Sister Simone Explains President Biden for You
The Catholic Thing ^ | 2/13/21 | Richard Doerflinger

The Catholic News Agency reports that, at a recent panel discussion hosted by the National Catholic Reporter, Sister Simone Campbell offered to explain President Biden’s position on abortion for us.

Campbell is executive director of the “Network Lobby for Catholic Social Justice,” about which more below. What she claims about Biden’s abortion position, based on a conversation with him, is that “he has a very developed approach to it. . .for him, it hinges on religious liberty, and that he will not force his religious belief on the whole nation.”

Far from being “very developed” this seems a parroting of the old “personally opposed, but” position that Democrats such as Mario Cuomo and the Kennedys used decades ago to dodge the contradiction between their alleged private belief and their public actions. In this case, it’s not even remotely relevant to our current situation on abortion. Its use as a defense of President Biden cries out for several observations.

First, pro-life Americans would heave a huge sigh of relief if Joe Biden were to refrain from imposing his beliefs about abortion (religious or otherwise) on the nation. The reality is that he has expressed support for an agenda that does force those beliefs on the rest of us.

Reversing a position he held for four decades, he believes that all Americans should be forced to fund the destruction of unborn children with their tax dollars, “making sure everyone has access to care – including reproductive health care – regardless of income, race, zip code, health insurance status, or immigration status.”

He has endorsed the “Equality Act,” which threatens to force even Catholic health facilities to provide abortions or be punished for violating federal civil rights laws. And he supports legislation to “codify Roe,” a euphemism used by supporters to promote a......

““Network Lobby for Catholic Social Justice,””. So, how many new POC nuns are there? Even if they don’t want to become nuns they’ll need to be ‘drafted’ to meet pope frank’s goals right?

The nuns that taught me for 10.5 years in the 50’s and 60’s would describe Plugs as “utterly, breathtakingly, depraved and,if he doesn't get right with his Creator,he'll eventually become familiar with the fires of eternal damnation”.

Biden is a slimy, shifty demon.

A right hand man of Beelzebub himself

Joe is a baby killer, plain and simple.

Pay him no heed.

He's not my President.

My White House is in Mara Largo

Christian: “I don’t think we should kill innocent people.”
Heathen: “I think we should kill people.”
Christian: “Well, I don’t want to force my religion on you, so let’s kill people.”

BTW, I do not know any historical religion which condone abortion. Old testament Judaism believed abortion to be a kind of murder and treated (punished it) that way! Christianity and Muslims inherited the same view and practiced it during next almost two millennia. Only with the arrival of secular humanism the abortion became morally acceptable. The present day leftie churches, they are infected by secular humanism and from my point of view, they are not really churches any more.

Medieval Christians believed unanimously that abortion deserves death, and the discussions were around fine points like, if the woman could get absolution from the sins before execution and be allowed Christian funeral in Christian cemetery or not! That was pretty much the only contentious point in these times.
We got a long way from these traditional beliefs.

The Catholic Church is one of the few religions that considers that abortion is always wrong. Several religions (Christian and otherwise) might hold that life does begin at conception, but they allow certain excuses for abortion. If abortion murders and individual, how can there be any excuse, even rape or incest? The human right to life is paramount.

Historically, all Judeo-Christian-Muslim (and probably most others, I do not know) religions considered abortion to be a murder. That has been diluted now, thanks to the secular humanism influence on various religion.

Oh, you mean like, "I don't personally believe we should own slaves, but it hinges on religious liberty and I won't force my religious beliefs on the whole nation."? Developed like that???
