Showdown on Catholic Schools
Church Militant ^ | April 22, 2021 | Paul Murano

Posted on 04/23/2021 10:02:15 AM PDT by Marchmain

A Catholic school teacher resigned last week from the Shrine of the Little Flower elementary school in Royal Oak, Michigan after being confronted for having a Harvey Milk poster in her classroom. The late Milk was a so-called gay icon and activist from California in the 1970s.

School administrators confronted the teacher, who reportedly felt bullied and resigned. Another teacher resigned in support.

A group of outraged parents and alumni organized a protest Monday, claiming the school is not respecting inclusivity and diversity. The Detroit Resistance group met them to counterprotest in support of faithful priests.

Detroit Resistance member: "We're here to make sure that people understand there's a difference ... and to make them aware that God loves them, yes, but God does not love sin."

To diffuse the situation, the pastor of the Shrine, Fr. Joe Horn, met with the husband of the woman who resigned, and then met with protesters outside.

...

The parents and alumni had signed a petition with two general demands: (1) that two priests be canceled from school decision-making and be replaced by laypeople, and (2) that the Shrine Catholic schools be more open to so-called LGBT ideology and critical race theory.

Church Militant reported in March the school's principal wanted to replace traditional history with radical race theory.

I believe that Royal Oak is the locus of Catholic schools started by Tom Monaghan (Domino Pizza) money. They tend to be more Catholic. The teachers who are uncomfortable would be better off in a public school where the roles would be reversed.

This is what happens when you have a Pope who refuses to expound on Catholic doctrine regarding homosexuality, its permutations and practices.

The churches and christian schools are next. They won’t stop until they’ve conquered everything with “woke” views. They can’t be happy just simply being non-believers ... they want to silence believers.

You can’t be just a little bit pregnant. Either you are or you aren’t. Until the Catholic church decides to be uniform about its decision regarding church dogma, there will be confusion. The Catholic church needs to deny communion to any and every Catholic that supports abortion. There can be no exceptions. The church needs to make an example out of Joe Biden and let the hide go with the hair. Start with him and work their way through the list. Same for any and all LGBTQ matters, but that will be difficult because of the number of gay priest in their ranks. But it must be done. Otherwise, why should anyone take the church seriously.

Comrade! Who are you to say how pregnant a woman (or man!) can be? That should be her/his body, her/his choice! Remember logic and absolutes are tools of the white-supremest patriarchy.

Simple answer: shut it down. If the school will not teach Catholic beliefs there’s no reason for it. Let the LGBT “catholic” community send their kids somewhere else or start their own.

The Pope isn’t Catholic anymore, so why should Catholic schools be Catholic?

Not to mention half of the country's bishops.

Someone once said: But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea.

He's no longer welcome.

Faithful Catholic parents should pull their children and their tuition checks out of schools that aren't faithful to the authentic teachings of the church.

I’m so old I remember when we were told not to worry about the gay thing, that nobody’s gonna force Christians or churches to endorse it.

Yet another Dim lie from Satan.

So-called "inclusivity and diversity" means whatever the "outraged parents and alumni" say it means and they demand it now. Hmmm ... sounds just like the Democrat Party Cabal (DPC)-sponsored BLM/Antifa.

In 2020, the violent BLM/Antifa suddenly declared the U.S. is a "systemically racist" country that is against all blacks (including Oprah, Kamala, and Meghan). Let's conveniently ignore the fact that those three are super-rich, one is the U.S. Vice President, and another is royalty -- no, not you, Oprah! ... you're merely a poor talk-show host (lol). Nevertheless, Oprah, Kamala, and Meghan are still whining, complaining, and crying crocodile tears. They'll never stop complaining ... right, Mr. Sharpton? Even more ridiculous, every U.S. Democrat politician totally supports and defends the violently racist BLM/Antifa because it hugely helped the DPC steal the election.

The wacky far-left DPC is intensely obsessed with totally transforming the U.S. into a third-world country (which will ensure far-left Democrat politicians win virtually all future elections). The DPC's spiritual leader is "King George" Soros who is likewise obsessed. It certainly appears they want to replace (the so-called "racist") Queen Elizabeth with the self-described atheist King George. In fact, the DPC is already pushing a Global Tax. So while the insane far-left Democrats are intensely and relentlessly pursuing all their harebrained causes, Republicans have been wasting their time doing embarrassingly moronic things like breaking into the Capitol and grabbing Pelosi's podium and gavel and stealing a few paper clips off her desk. Although I firmly believe in conservative principles, I do respect the 24/7/365 intensity, boundless energy, and relentless drive of the insanely misguided, far-left Democrats. No wonder the delusional Dems are easily winning the cultural/political argument in the U.S.

Very well said. There’s a civil war over LGBT within the Catholic Church at least in North America and Europe where the LGBTs have achieved widespread cultural acceptance/approval. The Catholic Church must choose between (1) sticking wiht its historical, natural-law based-positions on gender and sexuality; and (2) going full-on Episcopalian with approval of same-sex acts, marriage, clergy, etc. There is no middle way.

The Democrats could not and cannot pull it off without a complicit media which the Republicans have never had. Therein lies the difference.

Totally true. Can add to the list: Complicit far-left academia, complicit far-left Big Tech, complicit far-left Corporate America, complicit far-left pro sports leagues, should I go on?

Father Coughlin's old haunt. He was kind of the Rush Limbaugh of the 1930's. Kind of.

There are many gray areas in the Bible. The sinfulness of homosexuality is not one of them. It’s condemned in both the Old and New Testaments. Don’t know how anyone claiming the Blood of Jesus Christ could think otherwise.
