Something is very rotten in the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), which represents America’s largest Protestant denomination, and it is only a matter of time before it goes the sad way of the mainline Methodists and Presbyterians.

The rot at the core of the SBC is illustrated in three men who ought to be stalwarts of the Gospel, but who are instead leading the convention into Woke Hell. This trio includes Matt Chandler, lead pastor at The Village Church; outgoing SBC President J.D. Greear; and his successor, Ed Litton of Redemption Church.

One would not expect a prominent spiritual leader who was trained in a reputable seminary and can read the Bible to equate in a positive manner the far-left-wing critical race theory term “woke” with anything in scripture.

That’s the logical equivalent of comparing bubble gum with soap bubbles. Or, as Mark Twain once said, lightning and lightning bugs. They sound an awful lot alike, but it takes about three nanoseconds of focused consideration to realize they have nothing to do with one another.

IF these quotes are true.......and we should always question sources....
....then I agree with your conclusion.

The Reformed Presbyterian ( PCA)..( a member for many years)..... left the mainline USA Presbyterian back in the 70’s because of their false direction/apostasy.....

My church heritage is is soaked in Southern and Independent Baptist .....

.....but we are called to be ‘watchmen’.......
.....as it should be

I don’t believe things have gotten as bad yet in the SBC as this author fears...but there is indeed a problem with these guys caring too much about worldly perception.

I am increasingly seeing the appeal of nondenominational churches, however.

This show just how far the Left has penetrated this country - they are now in the SBC. It had to be VERY HARD WORK for them, to have to fully understand scripture and speak it, so that they could climb the ranks, but they found people willing to do it, and so here we are.

Even Al Mohler has gone over to the woke dreck.
The SBC is reaching the point of Ichabod - the Glory has departed.
My parents are trying to talk me back to Rome. My response was “When will Pachamama be run through the wood chipper and the sawdust burned.”
It’s just about time to go IFB, as long as it’s not the Andersonites.

It’s about power and how you wield it.

The Reverend Billy Graham had it.

Anybody else, not so much.

“I don’t believe things have gotten as bad yet in the SBC as this author fears.”

Do some research on SBC resolution #9. It’s definitely gotten that bad.

There is a YT channel called Ready to Harvest where a young pastor goes over denominational beliefs. He did a rapid fire video on 50 denominations. Its stunning how many are out right apostate. The SBC was one of the few good ones – so far.

The Small Block Chevy? Time tested and very popular with the street-rod crowd.

From the point of view of the ruling class (not just the Democrats, and not just the government), there are but two religions.

Sodomy and heresy.

Sad to see the SBC decline so rapidly. Soon it will be like the Roman Catholic Church; one that is led by LGBTQI and Luciferians.

Independent Churches and Bible Studies that love God’s Word seem to be the only refuge today.

Mclean Bible Church in Mclean VA —is a big contributor to the southern baptist church. That church has been shifting leftward hard for the last year. MBC is part of a program by leftists to take over the biggest contributing by dollar churches in the Southern Baptist Church.

A vote for new new elders came up on Wednesday night. Many in the congregation want the current regime to be kicked out. A start in the procedure would be to reject the new elders.

Usually the vote is completed and announced on the same night as the meeting so people instantly know what’s happening.

This time the announcement is delayed.
