Pope's original visit, scheduled for May 2020, was cancelled due to COVID-19
Pope Francis announced on Wednesday that he plans to visit Malta in an interview on a Spanish radio station.
"Slovakia is (already) on the programme, then Cyprus, Greece and Malta," he told Cope radio, reiterating his desire to visit small European countries since he took office in 2013.
The Pope was meant to visit Malta in May of 2020, but the trip was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Sources have suggested November 20 and 21 as potential dates for the trip, but the dates remain unconfirmed.
However, others suggested his visit to Malta will follow a trip to Cyprus on December 2 and 3.

Seems he has trips booked until the end of the year. That seem to counter the rumors that he will be resigning soon.
I am so sure like everyone is so happy to have this Pretend Pope show up in Malta!
Isn’t Malta a money-laundering hub of some sort?
Maybe he’ll book a cabin on Evergiven cruises... perhaps it is headed to Malta right now.
Malta says thanks for the warning.

Malta, that rang a bell so I just looked it up. Malta is an insignificant little island nation. Yet our Chief Justice Roberts spent time there in 2017 teaching some sort of class. Weird. Make of that what you will.
Hmmmm. I visited in Malta in ‘68 and things seemed fine then. So, Frank can stay home.
He does that every year from what I have heard...also, Malta is where some female reporter was murdered, apparently for reporting on the corruption.
The reporter whose car blew up was involved in research on the Panama Papers scandal ...in which a number of the world’s elite were enmeshed, including Hillary, the Hakluyt guy who was murdered in China, and Chinese and Nork officials.
Giorgio Tsoukalos was ahead of him in the 2014 episode of his short lived series In Search of Aliens.
The Mystery of the Cyclops
Sep 05, 2014 |
The mysterious Mediterranean island of Malta lies south of Sicily and is home to megalithic structures built by a mysterious prehistoric society. According to scholars, the massive blocks even pre-date the Great Pyramid of Giza. Just who were the people that built these sophisticated structures? Local folklore describes Malta as being the home of giants. Tsoukalos investigates Malta’s giant stone structures, unexplained rock carvings and mysterious elongated skulls.
Malta is far from insignificant. It stood up against the forces of Islam more than once. And its language is a variant of Arabic
Seems like he’s feeling better.
Well, it was less the population of Malta resisting the Muslims than it was the Knights of Malta. That was an international order of aristocratic warriors (they are still around, still have aristocrats, but are not warriors anymore). The Maltese did their bit, but the leaders, the money and the mercenaries came via the Knights.
Malta was an important air base for the Brits during WWII. It was put under seige by the Germans, who wanted to stop the British from using it as a stop on their way to North Africa. It was awarded the George Cross by the British after WWI for standing up to nightly bombing by the Germans and the seige, which had the island on the verge of starvation.
It’s a very ancient island civilization, and the island is covered with prehistoric monuments as well as remnants of the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, etc. The Knights of Malta have a very beautiful church there with chapels built by the different national groups in the Knights. It has been under just about every crown and country in Europe and the ME at one time or another, but during WWII it was British. (It became independent in 1964.). After the war, many Maltese emigrated to Australia.
I found this out because I was curious about this because when I was visiting Malta, I saw that a lot of houses in a particular area of the island had kangaroo-themed decorating or gardens - kangaroo cut-outs on their mailboxes, garden ornaments, etc. These were people who had gone to Australia after the war, made their fortunes and returned.
At least he gave everyone a heads up. Run for the hills.
King Edward gave the people of Malta the George Cross for their courage during the Second World War.
