I don’t doubt that Benedict is suffering a communications embargo as he has already taken 3 vaccine shots, seemingly unaware of the shots connection to abortion or potentially injurious/deadly side effects. What if the truth about Benedict’s resignation is much more human and not conspiratorial? E.Michael Jones, editor of Culture Wars magazine, wrote an article theorizing that Benedict suffers from a passive-aggressive personality defect. Disgusted at financial scandals, pressures from the Vatican homo lobby, and backstabbing Curia Cardinals, Benedict in anger resigns, throwing the Church into a chaotic situation in which the not sure what to do Cardinals elect Francis. Sorry but part of this article reminds me of the conspiratorial Trump stuff. Trump is letting the bad guys expose themselves so he can triumph over them and then come back as President. Trump is not gonna be reinstated as President and Benedict is not gonna be Pope again. We have to deal with reality as it is.

And then someone else suggests unity around another Scripture verse. And then another person suggests unity around yet another Scripture verse. On and on and on, ad nauseam times 30,000 and growing constantly. Jesus gave us a foundation of unity to build upon: Peter the Rock.

There is no unity when doctrine is so incongruent to the point of heresy.
My assertion is that there is a small group of churches endeavoring to be faithful to the Scriptures. They are in the minority by doing so.

The problem with that supposition is that there’s never been and never can be such a thing as “Scripture alone”. In fact that term is a classic example of an oxymoron!

As already stated, I am not Catholic and have no knowledge of Vatican politics aside from what I read, and this article suggested to me there was a coup within the Vatican. I was only looking for the Catholic perspective on this not an argument over conspiracy theories.
Also, I’m a bit confused as to how or why you would interject Trump into this or how it is related to a stone election.
My church is doing so quite well. It simply isn’t safe to do otherwise. So yes, it is possible. In fact, that is the how the church is supposed to organize, worship, be led by, interpret and respond to this world.

There are Christian organizations by the thousands that teach the inerrancy and sufficiency of Scripture and then proceed to INTERPRET it in widely divergent and even contradictory ways. That’s why I contend that “Scripture Alone” is an oxymoron!

Looks like a nothing burger. The pope only receives news from 2 sources? How many Americans receive news from one source or none?
Too much news of the world is a distraction, especially when there is nothing you can do about it. Too much about the world presents him with a temptation to despair and criticize his successor. He has made his mark in the world and is now withdrawing to a life of prayerful contemplation. We might all be happier if we emulated him and engaged in less news of the world and more charity in our own community.
I don’t like Francis and wish Benedict had stayed, but I don’t think this indicates anything about Francis being illegitimate.
