All--repeat--ALL virtues descend from 'love God with all our heart (etc.)' One can say that 'love God' is prima inter pares, but without love for God chastity is a tinkling bell, and one without chastity does not love God.
So the Cardinal-to-be may play all the word-games he wants, including the silly "under attack by bigots" slander.
And, trust me, he'll continue to play those games. Be prepared.

Very strange that San Diego should have a cardinal when San Francisco and Los Angeles don’t (although both of them had cardinals in the past). Of course easily understood in terms of Pope Francis’ goal to pack the college with people who are on his wave-length to try to ensure that the next pope continues his policies.
Gay priests have taken over the Catholic Church. They should have allowed clergy to marry as a bulwark against this sort of thing happening. I was raised Catholic, it saddens me to see this.

God’s not an idiot. It’s callef sin. Pope is sinning in naming him cardinal, he is sinning in proclaiming grave immorality. The churchgoer is responsible for their own sin like birth control and abortion and supporting gay sin.
Get yourself to sainthood or send yourself to hell. Jesus will judge on the effort. Pope and gay bishop are not fooling God, only insulting Him further.
