Girl, 5, adopted by same-sex couple is kicked out of Louisiana kindergarten because her lesbian mothers don't fit the Christian school's values: 'This was a big slap in the face'

A five-year-old girl was kicked out of a Louisiana Christian school because administrators said her lesbian parents didn't fit with the school's values.

Zoey Parker, 5, got the boot from the Bible Baptist Academy in DeQuincy, just two days before she was due to start kindergarten there.

Her parents, Emily, 28, and Jennie Parker, 31, a same-sex couple who have been married since 2016, said the school's director and pastor called them suddenly into a meeting on Saturday.

'They informed us that Zoey wouldn't be able to go to school there anymore because of our lifestyle choices,' Jennie, told KLPC.

Zoey - who is Emily's niece, and whose father died in 2020 - previously attended the school for pre-K, but after the Parkers adopted her this summer, Bible Baptist Academy said they were no longer interested.

The Parkers first shared their story in a Facebook post, and since then they said the community support they received was overwhelming, saying numerous Christian schools in the area reached out to say Zoey would be welcome there.

Zoey was finally enrolled in one of those schools, starting at the Hamilton Christian School in Lake Charles this week.

'There are good Christians out there. The whole community of DeQuincy has showed us what it is to be a good Christian and to not preach hate like this,' Jennie told NBC News, 'They are the reason why we kept faith.'

Zoey's father was killed in an industrial accident at work in 2020 when he was just 22. Her mother is also no longer in her life, it is unclear why, and on August 3 Emily and Jennie officially adopted her.

'She lost her father, she lost her mother, and now she's losing her school, which she loves very much,' Jennie said.

Sure, but at the same time I’m not a believer in punishing the child for the parent’s actions. It’s not the 5 year old’s fault.

It isn’t. But kids often have to deal with the ramifications of the actions of the parents.

That’s the life of EVERY child, this girl isn’t any different than the rest of us.

Ultimately it falls on her parents. Not the school. Be upset at the right party if you’re going to be upset at someone.

Normal far left propaganda from the Daily Mall?
Yup.
Nothing new about that.

Good for the school. Christian teaching is clear in Romans 1:26, women giving up natural relations for unnatural ones.

I agree however as the article said

“The pastor met us in the meeting room and started talking about gender identification, and that they teach the words of the lord, and that marriage is between a man and a woman,’ Emily said, ‘And that they didn’t think this was a good fit.’

Emily said she was initially insulted, but also embarrassed.

‘We’ve never been confronted so bluntly about our relationship,’ she said. ‘Our love, our marriage, has always felt natural. Our families have always made us feel like we are two people who love each other. This was a big slap in the face.’ “

Now you just know what these two would do if their kid when there. They would turn around and sue the school for “hate speech” when, not if the school started teaching the girl that her two mommies are going to hell for their sins.

Best to avoid the lawsuit, these two are troublemakers. The article said other “Christian” schools would take them which means probably the Episcopagan one having drag queen story hour in the chapel.

Well look at it this way, there is at least one decent protestant school out there. Better this one than the Episcopagan one I posted about last week.

So why did they send the kid to a Christian school?

That sounds good for the kid.

Did they think they were ‘Christians’?

So when the kid gets marriage between a man and woman, and comes home with it . . .

What happens?

She was already attending before she lost her dad to a tragic accident and they adopted her. Her real mom is not in her life for what ever reason. Seems the little girl liked this school and wanted to stay.

Unfortunately, when there is an agenda, the secularists will use children to weaken convictions.

Good one! I'm stealing that!

Likely this school will be getting a lot more applications now from parents trying to shelter their kids from the scourge of the homosexual agenda and to raise their children to know clearly from a young age God’s plan for humankind, as written clearly in the Bible.

This unfortunate situation could have been avoided had the lesbians not been allowed to adopt a child together.

“It’s not the 5 year old’s fault.”

No, it’s not. But once you open that gate and allow her to enroll, you cant unseal the box for future transgender, woke, liberal child who wants to enroll. Keep the door closed and follow the school’s values.

I’m glad the school has family values, but the little girl deserves better.

There is no such thing as a transgender. One is either male or female. That needs to be made clear.

it is not about punishing the child.

It is about publically approving of the parent’s lifestyle.

usually Christian schools have standards and admit only those whose family will support the dogma and beliefs of the church running the school.

So I suspect the adoptive parent lied to the school at the time they applied to the school.

and one wonders why the adoptive parent decided to send her to this school... maybe to sue them as an example.

She was in kindergarten, so it’s not as if she had been in the school for years.

and remember: These stories only give one side of the story.
