I would strongly recommend reading Michael S. Heiser’s SUPERNATURAL. Unlike his other books, it is written for people who are not Theology PhD candidates.
He was able to answer questions I had had from the time i was 17 and left the Catholic Church. I became a Believer as a result of three incidents and was Baptized about a year ago in the John’s Fork River in southern Missouri.
He was able to make sense out of Genesis 6:1-4
His revelation came when waiting for the Minister, one Sunday morning, when a fellow PhD candidate handed him a Hebrew language Bible, open to Psalm 82. In English, it says that God was standing in the midst of His council.
In Hebrew, it says that (Singular) Elohim was standing in the midst of (plural) elohim.
In Genesis 6:1-4, it says Sons of God in English, but (plural) elohim in Hebrew.
SUPERNATURAL is a good read and only $15 on Amazon. I have given many copies to friends and family...even the ones with Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Take care, and God Bless...
P.S. Other significan encounters included the Testimony of an Atheist who was stung by 5 Box jellyfish during a night dive off of Mauritius...the 2 most compelling 2 hours of YouTube I have ever seen...and some lectures by Amir Tsarfati.
Bought a copy for our preacher. After reading it he said that "Heiser was a rare theologian and God's gift to the church". Highly recommend it. I understand Supernatural is the simplified version.
I’m a big fan of Heiser.
The guy is a genius - well ahead of everybody I’ve read and heard thus far.
Thanks for the recommendation!
