It is a demonic mystery of the human soul why so many men and women have a profound and visceral animus toward members of the L.G.B.T. communities. The church’s primary witness in the face of this bigotry must be one of embrace rather than distance or condemnation.

What a nice sentiment. Easily summed up with "Hate the sin, love the sinner". But that flies in the face of the first paragraph in the article.

After reading that first paragraph, my take is "hate the sin, love the sinner goes right out the window. The people referred to are not sinners. They are demons.
