(Video) Why I (Jillian) Quit Kundalini Yoga And Gave My Life To Jesus
PatriotandLiberty Blog ^ | Feb 2020 | Doreen Virtue

Posted on 03/15/2023 2:57:49 PM PDT by spirited irish

Jillian was a preacher’s daughter, but what she was learning at church didn’t explain her mystical experiences. So she got involved with metaphysics and the quest for truth, with her “life goal” being to “achieve kundalini,” which she had heard led to enlightenment. What she discovered was the terrifying demonic nature of kundalini yoga. Jesus led her into the Bible, repentance, and to salvation. Jillian no longer does yoga of any kind, and she warns people that yoga is pagan idolatry that can’t be recreated or scrubbed to fit into Christianity.

I can’t say I know much about Yoga. I guess there are various form and maybe some come with cult-like “spirituality”. But I don’t think Jesus would be upset with people keeping fit, stretching their muscles, meditating quietly etc.

It is distressing that so many Christians get sucked into this pagan practice by n the name of “stretching” or “exercise.”

There are other ways to legitimately exercise. For a Christian, yoga is not that. It has a spiritual element to it.

An elderly lady in our church is a retired missionary after many decades in Asia. She is a fan of the exercises but adamantly opposed to the meditation and “spiritual” (cult) aspects of it.

Maybe. I just don’t know enough as I said. I don’t know if things like “chakra” are necessarily antithetical to judeochristian principles. Now, if you are idol worshipping, or worshipping self or other people that’s entirely different.

That’s sad she’d see things that way. Yoga is, at its foundation, a spiritual exercise, and that can’t be taken out of it. And even at the maximum that can be done in removing the *overt* religious aspects from it, participating in yoga still promotes it to other people who wouldn’t take the same steps. There are many other forms of exercise that Christians can participate in.

There’s a whole lot to the meditation aspect of yoga that westerners are ignorant of.

The stretching and maintaining flexibility and balance is healthy.

I used to go to drum circles and help out with the development of rhythms in the circles etc... and we had this instructor come in and she started talking a lot about shamanism etc... telling people that it was basically the use of medicinals and herbs to promote health.

Long story short I called her out on Shamanism because I had been overseas and knew quite a bit about shamanistic practices and witch doctors on the continent of Africa and she kept contending that no no it’s not that at all and I basically told her that yes it was all of that and that she was either misguided, ignorant or promoting evil. Needless to say I left and I think she remained for quite a while. I’ve heard others talk about her promotion of spiritualism after the fact. Plus this whole weird group of fire eaters, dancers... hippies in nature started showing up to get their burning man groove going.

Yoga means “union.” It refers to wholeness within self and is in no way contradictory with the Bible.

Wholeness within self can only be achieved with Love. Jesus’s most important message.

I’ve studied kundalini yoga and the ancient texts for many years. Like Christianity, it can be used to lead people astray.

I agree with your statements about Shamanisn. Be wary of anyone who gives themselves a title or label of identity. It’s ego and not of God.

The only label that is meaningful is “servant of God.” This applies within Christianity too.

I know many shamans, so I say this with experience.

Agree Yoga and Christianity are not mutually exclusive.

I took a few yoga classes years ago. Didn’t really like them and joined the gym instead.

People who hold onto sin and practice kundalini yoga experience much discomfort.

Often they become paralyzed. Their hips lock up and they cannot walk.

I’ve been reading some some of the replies here, which appear to defend the practice of yoga vis a vis Christianity. It’s obvious that some people are woefully ignorant about yoga and others who don’t want to be told that one of their sacred cows (pun intended) is anti-Christ. Please do your reading!

Yoga is more than stretching exercises. It’s basically sexual mediation.
