The chatbots that I have interacted with seem to train to provide responses that are plausible or satisfying to the user. Truth or wisdom don’t necessarily have anything to do with it. When they do, it’s the truth or wisdom of human beings that it’s regurgitating, in a plausible or satisfying form.
