Scripture tells us that prior to the return of Jesus Christ at the end of history, the nations of the earth will have become evil swamps of idolatrous tyrants who have forgotten their own souls, believe that all that exists is the evolving universe of psychic energy, and prefer evil over good. Earth and its idolatrous citizenry will have deteriorated to the evil, godless condition that it had been during Noah’s day.

Lest we mistakenly perceive idolaters as nice, misunderstood people, in “Journey to the Celestial City,” Wayne Martindale sets straight this error with his unvarnished depiction of hell-bound idolaters as haters of good people. All that’s left in them is darkness – self-centeredness, hate, envy, lies, thoughts of theft and murder and sadistic pleasure received from hurting other people. They are evil, violent idolaters who prefer evil thoughts, evil words, evil companions and evil acts. Thus when they encounter good people they, "“…condemn them, perverting their reason by rationalizing evil and finding ways to blame the good or God or religion for their problems and the problems of the world. They already hate goodness because it implicitly condemns the evil they have chosen. They wouldn’t like heaven if they could have it. They are, in a sense, already in hell, preferring darkness to light.” (Eternal Perspectives, Randy Alcorn, p 76)"

Pretty much describes the world we live in today.

Excellent article.

I would add that the destruction of Western (Judeo/Christian) civilization can be laid at the feet of the Left and, in America, the Democrat Party.

In fact, aside from pandering to their perverted supporters, their first order of business is exactly that...the destruction of the existing system so that theirs can be installed.

The reason so many of their supporters are perverts has more to do with the nature of Christian culture than it does any ideology of the Left. It's just that perverts and the mentally ill (but I repeat myself) are outcasts from the sanity of Christian thinking and have nowhere else to turn when it comes to powerful political movements.

And given that true believers in collectivism (which is the sole ideology of the Left) are few and far between, the Left takes what it can get.

Though the Left will probably exterminate all its perverted and mentally ill followers once it gains absolute power, it must, in the meantime, pander to them.

This piece is awesome. Not a quick or easy read, but well worth the effort.

“This outpouring of pessimism and despair is what we ought to expect from mainly secular intellectuals. Their religiously pagan worldview within its closed system (anti-supernatural universe) positing the evolutionary ascent of man from primordial matter to a more perfect state leaves them confounded as well as spiritually and morally impoverished. But supernatural Christian theism along with its Hebraic antecedents and in particular its doctrines of creation ex nihilo and eschatology (Rev. 22:13) are explicit statements that history has both a definite beginning and end.”

“intellectuals’ religously pagan worldview” vs. “Christians’ supernatural theism and Hebraic antecedents” is a highly useful framing of the battlefield.

Ephesians 6:12
King James Version

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Is the big turn off of “religion” the actual creation events versus the magic wand interpretation that has been propagated and held as a test of faith since the Middle Ages.

Scientifically it’s not observed but it has been noted and studied by tell tale after effects that the Earth took a whole lot longer to create then 7/24 hour days.

This not saying that the creation process didn’t occur what it says is that there was no magic wand or snap of the fingers involved, that the day (the yom) was not 24 hours, it was an era. There several interpretations of yom and one is “era” which fits.

The other misinterpretation is the word “was” as in “was void” another Hebrew interpretation of the word “was” is became and that explains a lot of cataclysmic extinction events along with geological and astronomical events that have affected this planet and made it into what we live on this very day.

So... when God spoke and it was so, did everything just (bam!) suddenly appear as we see it or was the process of creation put into motion?

And for what I have observed is that when skypilots start talking 7/24 hour days listeners can’t comprehend that fantatical approach and then when they’re told they have no faith if they don’t believe that... and it smacks of brainwashing not a test of faith God. Does God test our faith. Or does God brainwash?

Why jesus? Well if God knows all past present and future wouldn’t it be plausible to think that God knew that he needed a Mary from the very beginning? And that the Litany of generations leading to Mary was necessary, hence the story contained in the Old Testament leads to Mary in order to abolish corruption of his creation. But people don’t think that way. Because the story has been muddied through corruption. The word continues uncorrupted because the word is uncorruptible. Dogma is corruption and corruption comes from the prince of the world, the satan, the whisperer.

Do I have less Faith because I have thought this through in a way that corresponds to the physical and natural?

I think my faith is stronger for that because it untwists the ravel and awes my sense of order. I would like to think that the Lord is a Lord of order and not chaos.

And I thank the Lord daily for my understanding and continued understanding of his glorious creation. Mankind is an impatient creature - so impatient are we that we hasten to shorten the very Act of Creation to suit our impatient natures.

The biblical explanation of madness and depravity in connection with the end of society resides in the concept of judgment upon an idolatrous people, who being evil and perilous to their own existence and that of others, have liberated themselves from God’s perfect law.
..........................................

The Prodigals think they’re liberated then everything really goes to Hell.

I feel as if I’m watching all the end time prophecies come to pass.
