My dad worked in a maximum security state prison. The best advice he gives is to not follow anyone's advice in a prison. Just follow the rules quietly. After a year or so, it will become obvious to you as to who to stay away from and avoid, and as to who to just avoid.
Its a prison. It's not a personal development consortium.
