Country music sensation Oliver Anthony has dropped a new song titled 'I Want To Go Home' that closes with a verse from the Bible as he continues to be a smash hit despite the lack of a record deal.
The singer recently made history as the first debut artist to go straight to No. 1 on the Billboard charts with his country anthem Rich Men North of Richmond.
His overnight success was sparked by the blue-collar ballad where he rails against working 'overtime hours for b****** pay' and slams woke politicians for only caring about 'minors on an island somewhere.'
He released another track on Tuesday and it has already gathered 1.4 million listens on Spotify.
Anthony, who releases his music without the help of a record label, is estimated to be earning $40,000 a day after he turned down offers for as much as $8million.
The artist's latest song touches on religion, war, family farms being sold and the loss of green space - all topics that have been in headlines and the focus of political debates in recent months.
'Every day living in this new world is one too many days to me,' Anthony sings.
'Son, we’re on the brink of the next World War and I don’t think nobody’s praying no more.
'And I ain’t saying I know it for sure I’m just down on my knees, begging the Lord to take me home. I want to go home.'
He adds: 'Seven generations farming the ground, grandson sells it to a man from out of town.
'Two weeks later the trees go down, only got concrete growing around.'

It reads: 'For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?'
I like everything he’s done so far. Raw talent, honest lyrics, gritty voice.
Real deal.
Oliver Anthony – I Want to Go Home

{Verse 1}
Well, if it won’t for my old dogs and the good Lord
They’d have me strung up in the psych ward
‘Cause every day livin’ in this new world
Is one too many days to me
{Verse 2}
Son, we’re on the brink of the next world war
And I don’t think nobody’s prayin’ no more
And I ain’t sayin I know it for sure
I’m just down on my knees
{Chorus}
Beggin’, Lord, take me home
I just wanna go home
I don’t know which road to go
It’s been so long
I just know I didn’t used to wake up feelin’ this way
Cussin’ myself every damn day
People have really gone and lost their way
They all just do what the TVs say
And I wanna go home
{Verse 3}
Seven generations farmin’ the ground
Grandson sells it to a man from out of town
Two weeks later the trees go down
Only got concrete growin’ around
{Chorus}
And I wanna go home
I wanna go home
I don’t know which road to go
It’s been so long
I just know I didn’t used to wake up feelin this way
Well, cussin’ myself every damn day
There’s always some kind of bill to pay
People just doin’ what the rich man say
And I wanna go home
Mark 8:36-38
King James Version

This gentleman seems troubled to me.
More than normal troubled, which a lot of us are these days .
I hope he makes it .
I was feeling so good this morning until I heard this. Someone needs to put Prozac in his sweet tea. What about “this is the day the Lord has made........” Does he do parties? Debbie Downer with a twang.
I’m thinking of the hymn, “If I Gained The World But Lost The Savior”.
You and Baba……don’t seem to get it ……..but a whole lot of thousands of others do!
And they’re heartsick over the hideous state of affairs they’re living through!
If you think he’s ‘troubled ‘ there are surely hundreds of thousands who feel the same kind of ‘troubled’ and wonder how our once great nation lost its greatness.
Oliver expresses what is in the hearts of many!
God bless him.
This guy is living in my head right now. We’re sharing thoughts. Too many people feel this way. Jesus is coming soon, I hope.
Yes ma’am , I don’t get it
Thank you for sharing that.
WOW! Just WOW!
The words of a man who hit bottom and looked upward for strength.
🙏🙏🙏
Amen
🙏
You are really lost...
This guy truly understands the concept of dying daily. We must first be empty and not full of ourselves to have room for God in us.
Oliver is dead on with his words regarding trouble ahead. It’s necessary for people to reach despair, the narrow window we must go through to find and experience God.
It’s an experience people cannot relate to until they crashed, burned, hit bottom, totally empty, and were then raised up. It’s real. People have no idea what is about to happen. While it will be very rough, the end result will be very, very wonderful.
It gives me great peace to know that God is in control and His plan for us is unfolding. It really hit me in 2012 when Obama beat Romney. Long before the election I was in great turmoil, realizing that if Obsma won, the country would crash. Then I realized it is a good thing and all part of God’s plan. Jesus warned us that the weeds would be here. And they are.
I gave it to God, and suddenly realized why the crash must happen so people stop playing God and surrender, turning to God in the moment of greatest despair.
That’s when I really began to trust God and my heart was no longer troubled.
I see in the future a New Pentecost that will be with the entire earth as the purifying fire of the Holy Spirit arrives. Oh, what a wonderful global warming it will bring and the weeds will be burned.
On earth as it is in Heaven is finally happening.
🙏🙏🙏
I think it was Jack Posobiec that said if country songs were real, they wouldn’t be about pickup trucks and dirt roads, they’d be about the Pizza Hut in town that became a tattoo parlor and is now a pot store.
