Pope Francis blasted what he described as groups of "very strong, reactionary" American Catholics, warning against becoming "backwardists" who oppose change in the Catholic Church.
"The situation in the United States is not easy: There is a very strong, reactionary attitude. It is organized and shapes the way people belong, even emotionally," said the pope. "I want to remind these people that backwardism is useless, and it is necessary to understand that there is a correct evolution in the understanding of questions of faith and morals."

He didn’t happen to mention Jesus, or salvation, or holiness. I guess those are just “backward” concepts. I’m kinda proud that American Catholics are a thorn in his side.

Yesterday’s Gospel reading was Jesus telling Peter, who expressed an understanding of who Jesus is, that the netherworld would not prevail against the Church. Jesus appointed Peter the leader. He said nothing about the Vatican

American Catholics don’t accept reforms such as rewriting the Catechism, acceptance of homosexuality as normal, same sex marriage, blessing same sex marriages, denying the Latin Mass that has been a standard for 2000 years as handed down by the Apostles, to name a few of Francis’ reforms. Seems his goal is New World Order/One World Gov’t. Next Francis may want to rewrite the Ten Commandments because they don’t meet Societies desires.

What happened to welcoming and listening to all voices in a synodal church?
With every word he says, it makes me happier that I became conservative Lutheran. Saint Paul would be arguing with him, just as he did with Saint Peter!
