The Slow Death of the Christian West: How Paganism Has Re-Emerged Through the Failure of the Church to Be Faithful
PatriotandLiberty ^ | 11/23 | Rev. Benjamin Glaser

In our prayer and worship help today we are going to talk about the world in which we live today and how the same men tasked with building up have been working to destroy and tear down. We are now experiencing the results of this evil. In some sense the reappearance of the strong gods, the pagan culture we left a millennia or more ago is all a result of men abandoning their responsibilities in accordance with the Fifth Commandment. Everything comes back to the law of God, and whether society will bow their knee to Christ or seek to be their own god. Psalm 2 and other passages warn us as to the consequences of such. I get calls/texts regularly from folks both within and outside the congregation about why we see such rampant licentiousness and sin in the world today. On one hand the earth has been so since the days of Adam’s fall. However, there were times when it was better, even if sin was still present.

I enjoyed that article.

I would add that the greatest problem with the churches in the West is that they are lukewarm.

A lukewarm church is very appealing to people as a way to get just close enough to God to feel good about themselves, but not so close that they have to go to the Cross with Christ.

Lukewarm churches are social clubs for Jesus. They feel great, they have lots of social events where people can feel connected to their communities and even behave in public the way Christians ought...BUT they are not places where people go to be stripped of their humanity--die, in other words--to be reborn as Servants of Christ.

Lukewarm churches (aka social clubs for Jesus) have no defense against the paganism most recently known as Wokeism.

Long ago, historian Flavius Josephus referred to the problem as “the madness of those that were for innovations.”

The quote is from “War of the Jews” Book 7, Chapter 1, Section 1

Too many churches try to be God instead of preaching the Gospel - it’s one of the reasons non-denominational churches are on the rise and flourishing - they stick to the Bible and Jesus instead of self-serving canons and propaganda.

A quick study of The Screwtape Letters is useful to understand how the devil works. As the “social clubs for Jesus” typically laugh off belief in the devil, they are fertile ground, sitting ducks for subversion.

Our internal workings program us to spirituality. If we are not worshiping God, we find other outlets like Nature, Science or even whatever.

Many churches today are all about filling the collection plate. They are afraid the true Gospel will offend parishioners and affect their bottom line. They “tickle the ears” of lukewarm Christians with feel-good sermons and flashy music shows.

Pope Francis and other lib Church leaders are changing Christ’s teaching to adjust to changing times. Christ doesn’t count anymore according to them. They want to toss ancient mores to meet man’s needs.

Quote
Another way this paganism manifests itself, despite what I or our older Presbyterians may think of it in a religious sense, it’s been how easily even the church has capitulated to the commercialization of Christmas and Easter. Be honest, do you spend more time planning and organizing for Santa and the Easter Bunny or the Nativity and the Resurrection? Do your young ones fixate their hearts on presents or the greatest gift ever given? Where do they get those ideas from one wonders…
....

Thankfully, the Father Created the Day of the New Month (Moon) to commemorate the Beginning every month, commemorating His Birth and His baptism, at the same time.

A day of feasting, a day where the gate of the temple would be open, a day markets were closed..

Sounds exactly like what happens on the Beast’s December 25.

And the Father Created a 6th Work day in His 2nd week of every month, that commemorates His Son the Passover Lamb, finished His Work.

And He commemorates that work of Redemption every month, on the same 14th Day in the middle of His months.

Surrounded by 4 Beasts, 24 elders and a Throne where the First and Last sits, with the Passover Lamb in the middle.. rehearsed every month that He has.

No Santa and No Easter Bunny needed to tell His Story or to tell Time..

But the Beast has their own version that pagans can share with the Church for better or worse..

There is a church, down around the bend of the road, that has an advert banner: “ I make mistakes. You make mistakes. We all make mistakes.”

I remember the hubbub unger Bush about certain churches being scrutinized.
The local response was: “ Glad we got our tax exempt status!”
While in New Orleans the weekend after 9/11, I stopped into a small nondenom church, thinking at least some prayers would be raised. NOPE! “That city is sinful and deserved what it got!” **little did I tell them that I lost frends in the trading pits**
Now, with all those years to insulate, I have witnessed more affairs, child molestations, and other kinds of unwanted attentions abound.
I seen more comments about “the Sunday plate” being scarce, then comments made to hold fast to their True Supplier.

Yes, there is a decline.

I’m just a 71 year old observer.
The fault is Y’ALL!
