Javier Milei, a Catholic libertarian and outspoken critic of Pope Francis, has been elected President of Argentina over a Peronist candidate in a stunning, double-digit upset win. Milei stated that Pope Francis “has an affinity for murderous communists” and accused him of violating the Ten Commandments. Some Westerners thought these comments might hurt Milei in Argentina, Francis's home country. instead, Milei's aggressive criticisms of Pope Francis carried him to an upset victory.
Since Francis became Pope a decade ago, Argentina has seen record disaffiliation among Catholics, with growing numbers saying they do not trust Church leaders. Now, we have vivid confirmation that Francis is wildly unpopular in his home country.
Milei defeated the Peronist candidate Sergio Massa. Francis's affinity for Peronism has been well documented. The core tenet of Peronism will be familiar to traditional Catholics who have lived under Francis's papacy: "To the friend, everything. To the enemy, not even justice!" Let us pray that Milei's election as President of Argentina will be a foretaste of a larger repudiation of this most un-Catholic philosophy.

Milel has called Francis “a dirty communist.”
He has rightly called Francis out for promoting socialism/marxism, and has repeatedly asked why Francis never criticizes marxist Latin regimes and rulers like Cuba/Castro, Venezuela/Maduro.
An early 87th birthday present for Bergoglio... a thumb in the eye from his countrymen. Love it.
Francis should be thinking about the Four Last Things* rather than climate change and the silly synodality nonsense.

Communism and God do not mix.
You can only serve one master, and Communism wants to be God over you. Communism wants no god so that your salvation and existence is only within the State.
Communists always believe that there can be a gentle Communism, one that is compatible with God. Never happens. My personal opinion is that it’s a fundamental difference between the two that leads to the failure. Communism ‘takes’ property and possessions from people for the ‘general good’. While Christ recognized that serving God meant ‘giving to other of your own free will’. Forcing people to ‘give’ isn’t actually ‘Godly’.
I don’t believe that there’s been a pope in centuries who’s been less interested in the Catholic faith. Bergoglio operates as if he’s a sort of post-Christian, Unitarian chaplain of the global leftist elite.
He certainly seems to be cheering on the New World Order, which will be anti-Catholic and anti-Christian. A very sorry, and scary spectacle.
Real Communists do not and they don't care. They throw around slogans like you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. They idolize mass murderers like Stalin, Mao, Castro and Che.
Their useful idiots like Pope Frank, the mainline Protestant denominations, their deep state tools and the like never seem able to figure this out. But it is really quite simple.
Looks like the Pope won’t be visiting Argentina anytime soon.
Can't argue with him on that.
There is a reason why Pope Francis has never visited Argentina since his election.
