This poor woman who was victimized by the church because she wanted to do things counter to church teachings.

Now that she’s doing those those things she’s pissed because she wants the church to embrace her new lifestyle, she still wants to be in the church but she’s hurt because the church won’t embrace her.

Now she wants payback and starts badmouthing the church. Sounds a lot what a lot of ex Catholics did in the 90s.

I lived in a cheap rooming house during my year of law school. One of the tenants was the unlikeliest Mormon I ever met. At early middle age, she was unusually overweight for a Mormon. She was also talking about waiting for her payout from the Dalkon Shield class action suit. Traditionally-minded Catholics are disgusted by the idea of the Dalkon Shield, and I couldn't imagine Mormons being too excited about it either, especially for the single and divorced.

She did have a flair for writing letters to corprations and getting them to give her stuff for free. She scored a huge haul after writing a fan latter to TastyKake.

It was a strange rooming house. Catholic law student. Hard leftist middle aged Methodist black newspaper writer. The Jackest of Jack Mormons. A Red Chinese tea expert attending the agriculture grad school (I trolled him by asking him about Charlie Chan. I also gave him some Chinese language Christian literature.) Two Malaysian gals working for $1 an hour at the Chinese restaurant who flushed things down the toilet that weren't supposed to be flushed (it backed up into my room), and spent hours in the bathtub doing laundry by hand, singing what might well have been the Malaysian equivalent of "This is the Way we wash our clothes." I wanted to take a shower. That wasn't happening. Oh well, what does one want for $55/month?
