Oh Give Thanks Unto the LORD,

Just when you thought we were finished with "Handel's Messiah", here is the Chorus that interprets Today's Verse: Unto Us A Child Is Born. I used the Video with notation so you can sing along, even though this particular rendition is not the most exciting one on the Internet. I think this video is a tutorial, so the the singing is somewhat clipped and precise, to ease learning the song. It's not difficult to pick a part and follow the notes.

This little Passage of Scripture is so deep that it would take much more than a daily thread to delve into it. In my humble approach, I see this little verse as a key to the Mystery of the Godhead.

The First Name "Wonderful Counselor", appears to me as the Holy Spirit. He is the Embodiment of Wisdom, Counsel, Knowledge, Power, Comfort, and Advocacy. In fact, Isaiah lists these qualities as "Gifts" and attributes them to "The Spirit" (Ruach) which is also the Hebrew word for "Wind" or "Breath". Indeed, The Greek word for the Holy Spirit is "Pneuma" which has a similar meaning.

The Name we looked at yesterday was "Almighty God". That Name seems to encompass all the Power, Might, and Omnipotence of the Creator.

Today's Name is "Everlasting Father". Isaiah has already shared with us that God declares Himself as Our Father in Heaven. This isn't just a "New Testament" concept.

Those who claim that the word "Trinity" doesn't appear at all in the Bible are partially correct. The word itself doesn't appear. But the concept does.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
