I’ve always wondered where the modern descendants of David and Solomon are in present day.

I'm no expert in descendants of Jacob/Israel, but two things seem to be true which chromosomally gum up the works. The first is that there have been more than a few converts to Judaism with no evident bloodline, from the Ashkenazi to Sammy Davis, Jr. The second is that there are enclaves worldwide of people who practice forms of Mosaic religion with no evident connection to those around them; the most common theory is that they are the remnants of the first Israelite diaspora ("the ten lost tribes").

The sure sign is found in Daniel 9, esp. erase 26. In His first earthly appearance in human form, the Messiah will be killed in Jerusalem 483 years after the degree from Cyrus was issued, and the Mosaic/Davidic Covenan will be abrogated, abolished, finished in Jeho AB’s Plan.
At the instant of His separation from His non-functional (but still sinless) body, the Jewish religion was, and is, just as dead, never to be again in effect with Jehovah. And at that point, still one heptad (week) of years still remain to finish God’s judgment on Israel and the world they had been assigned to evangelize.

Christians know, but I certainly am curious about how Jews today think they will recognize Him.

I asked once on a thread and amazingly, the thread just shut down instantly and all the Jews who were anticipating the Messiah and didn’t acknowledge Jesus as Him suddenly dropped the conversation and vanished.

Scripture indeed tells us how to recognize Him. I’m curious what Scripture modern day Jews would use.

I recommend the last part of Daniel 12. From Derher based on the teaching of the Rebbe: “Towards the end of chapter 12 of Daniel, an angel tells Daniel that Moshiac will come, “in a time, two times and a half.” And he continues, “these words are covered and sealed until the time of the end. They will be clarified and whitened, and many will be purified, and the wicked will pervert them, and all the wicked will not understand, but the wise will understand.

The alter Rebbe explains this last sentence as a description of the times of Moshiac. That the people will be clarified and cleansed, the wicked will be perverted, and the wise will understand.

My constant prayer is that all are exposed to their hidden things and the good be clear from evil. If you read the headlines, that is what is happening and my prayers are being answered. All the hidden things are being exposed. There is rampant evil in plain sight.

There are signs and wonders for those who can see.

Such as the word, nes [נס], as in "Nes Gadol Haya Sham/Po"

Nes -- it's a miracle, flag, banner, standard, ensign.. generally a conspicuous sign raised up, such as on a... pole.

Nes is spelled nun-samech, adjacent letters in the alefbeit.

The eclipse will be located in Pisces, the pair of fish in the sky..

The typical meaning of the letter nun [נון] is a fish, from Aramaic. But also posterity (in the sense of multiplying like fish, entire schools of them).

The typical meaning for the letter samech [סמך] is support.

Yet it is also a fish -- a concealed fish (trout: shemech: שֶׁמֶךְ) because this one arrived via Arabic, which does not have a letter samech. Thus in Hebrew it is spelled with a letter shin ש, not a samech ס.

Etymology 1

From the root س م ك (s-m-k), meaning “to be elevated or lofty”, “to be supported or held up”, “to sustain”; hence the meaning of “a source of sustenance”, “a mainstay or staple-food”. Cognate with Hebrew סָמַך (samak, “to lean, lay, rest, support”) attested in the Bible with the similar semantic sense “to sustain” or “to nourish”.[1]

Ergo, a "nes" miracle sign is a pair of fish, nun + samech (shemech, trout)

Three words for trout: truta [טְרוּטָה], shemech [שֶׁמֶךְ], and forel [פוֹרֵל].

Funny weird:

The internet translators typically see a shemech [שֶׁמֶךְ] as "your name", because (same consonants).

Your name שמך appears 3x in this verse:

When I noticed all of the commentary going back since forever about Psalm 145, re its missing "nun" verse...

That sure was a lot of analysis for what's obvious on its face, according to the basic meanings already out there all over the place.

It's the one that got away. It must have been pretty big, too, otherwise it would not have gotten away.

The Hebrew word nun in the sense of "fish" never appears in the Bible. As you may have realized, the common word for fish in Biblical Hebrew is dag/dagah. Why does the word nun not appear in the Bible?

The trouble with ancestry isn't the thousands of years. Even absolute, verifiable proof of direct descent is no guarantee.

Jesse had many sons, most right there in the same room, yet only one was *the* one, and he wasn't even there.

To paraphrase Samuel: Sooo, Jesse... you got any more kiddos, because these here are all a bunch of rejects...

It kind of throws cold water on the genealogical research, because competent folks know that unlike Samuel who was looking for the best of the best (5 stars), HR is gonna reject the best and brightest Can-Do candidate on some lame technicality/empty check box -- exactly the one best qualified to get the job done. Same as they always operate.

Right here on FR the stories are legendary. HR exists to reject the good, while saving the worst resumes for the interview call backs.

You can't tell them though.. they pride themselves on their eagle-eyed scrutiny of the applications. Every check box must be checked. They wouldn't want the wrong person to get his foot in the door!
