So, Jesus knew Judas would betray him. It had to happen...what’s more it had to happen that way. So Judas was doing what God wanted done.

In that case was Jesus betrayed? or was prophecy being fulfilled to continue the path that Jesus was on..?

It could be both.

Yes, Jesus knew when He chose Judas.

But pretending to be a friend and then turning that friend over to be killed, yes, I’d call that betrayal.

I have raised such questions in our deep-dive Sunday School class, and included the actions of Pontius Pilate as well.

TL;DR, I came to understand that God will even use unbelievers to accomplish His goals.
