Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (4/10/24)[Prayer]

The Names and Titles of God (Jealous)

Exodus 13:21-22

21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name over All The Earth!
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The King of the Universe!
Ancient of Days;
You Are The One True God of Abraham,
and We Praise and Worship You with Our Whole Heart,
Soul, Mind, and Spirit!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

I thought it was cool that I had seen the recent eclipse through proper glasses at my student's house. His lesson coincided perfectly with the moment the eclipse reached totality, and we interrupted the lesson briefly to experience it together. I thank God for these little pleasures.

Then I talked to my friend Nick.

Nick and his lovely wife are excellent athletes. She will be running the Boston Marathon on Monday, but she and Nick went to Vermont for the best view of the eclipse. They viewed it from the top of a mountain, while a Pink Floyd Tribute band played an exact replica of Dark Side of the Moon! I used to do weird stuff like that, though I was never an athlete. But I wasn't envious, because I loved my "eclipse experience".

On that Vermont mountain, in the direct path of totality, Nick noticed how all of nature became silent at the peak of the eclipse. The birds stopped singing, the wind calmed, and everyone present held their breath.

Today's Descriptive Title for God is "A Pillar of Cloud by Day and Fire By Night." The Cloud shelters the People from the brutal rays of the Sun as they troop for years through the desert. The Fire lights the way before them. The two Pillars stayed with the Israelites the entire time, Sheltering and Illuminating for Forty Years in the desert. When the Pillar stopped, so did the Israelites, and they made camp there. Sometimes they wouldn't move out for a long time, because they would not proceed until the Pillar did. Not only did the Pillars provide Shelter and Illumination, they also provided Guidance, Direction, and God's very own version of GPS.

Even if the Sun had been blotted out for some reason, The Pillars would have been there, providing what Nature could not.

I probably won't be able to see another eclipse in my lifetime, but I'm content.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Yes, it was a beautiful eclipse, eerie light like at dusk, no bird sounds, time stood still...

Joining in prayer. God bless.

Psalm 112

1 Praise the Lord!
Happy are those who fear the Lord,
who greatly delight in his commandments.
2 Their descendants will be mighty in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches are in their houses,
and their righteousness endures for ever.
4 They rise in the darkness as a light for the upright;
they are gracious, merciful, and righteous.
5 It is well with those who deal generously and lend,
who conduct their affairs with justice.
6 For the righteous will never be moved;
they will be remembered for ever.
7 They are not afraid of evil tidings;
their hearts are firm, secure in the Lord.
8 Their hearts are steady, they will not be afraid;
in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
9 They have distributed freely, they have given to the poor;
their righteousness endures for ever;
their horn is exalted in honor.
10 The wicked see it and are angry;
they gnash their teeth and melt away;
the desire of the wicked comes to nothing.

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

Saw two total eclipses so far. (1) In 1979, in Montana (I was in college then) (2) In 2017, in Wyoming. The number of people in the state that day tripled its population.

It was something.
