I wonder how he understands the natural processes so well...while the physicists argue over the basic structures of matter and energy under the shadow of the uncertainty constraints of Heisenberg...

Regarding dead Dennett, I read his "Explaining Consciousness" many years ago, which manged to purport with wordy and sometimes interesting anecdotes that he would "explain consciousness." He came nowhere near to doing so. It was the academic version of what is today called "click bait."

Additionally and very under-reported, he stated his goal was to rid the world of religion. As with the old joke of Nietzsche and God, wherein the "God is dead" writer died, Dennett saw none of his true goals realized. He was a fancy talking fraud, in the end.

This is a small example of what has been happening in academia and publishing for decades now. BS with footnotes.

I tossed his book years back, by the way. Kept the Good Book.
