Three times Peter denied even knowing Jesus, and now Jesus asks Peter three times whether he loves Him. Assured that he does, Jesus charges Peter with feeding His “sheep”.

Jesus has another, much bigger assignment: He issues His Great Commission to His Apostles, telling them to carry the Good News about Him all over the world.
