An interesting piece. I'll start using the YLT in the online web bibles when looking for other readings.
It's interesting how Young wanted to restrict the meanings to a literal translation of a single word. This has both its strengths and weaknesses. Yet, I think that the YLT's durability in being a study help for the KJV should be considered something of a testimony of generations of orthodox Baptists/Protestant clergy to the merits of Young's approach in bible study.

I like YLT because of it's word-by-word approach. Granted it doesn't flow that well, but Young's irreproachable testimony to the word being "God-breathed" gives me comfort in the attitude of his heart as he attempted faithfully to put down simply what was before him, not what sounded pretty.
