DID SARAH PALIN REALLY SAY THE 'C' WORD? (Cajones)
WebToday ^ | 8-1-10 | WebToday

I'm not sure if we can believe anything in The Washington Post but this one needs mentioning even if they fabricated the story since it has to do with actually making Sarah Palin look good.

What's wrong with this picture? Since when would the WaPo want to make a conservative like Palin look good under any circumstances?

Nonetheless, Matt DeLong of the Washington Post quoted Sarah Palin as saying Barack Obama lacks 'the cojones' to tackle immigration.

Here's the exact quote, copied and pasted from the WaPo story:

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Sunday that Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) has "the cojones" that President Obama "does not have" to take on illegal immigration.

So, our conclusion on this matter is that although WaPo loves to trash Palin, this time they just couldn't resist putting in the Palin cojones quote, thus giving her a backhanded compliment.

By the way, the WaPo article ended with this just posted update:

Update: This may be the most high-profile political use of the word "cojones" by an American woman since then-U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Madeleine Albright famously said that Cuba's shooting down of planes flown by anti-Castro exiles was "not cojones" but "cowardice."

A language that uses coño (the real C word) as a routine expletive has different standards...this is less common in peninsula Spanish, but incredibly common in ...

I learned that "c" word in Spain.
I spent, cummulatively, two or three years in Spain between 1970 and 1990.

The word is common across the entire country, all classes, professions and ages : from politicians to gypsy children...

In public speaking it sounds better than balls and testicles. It is more accepted slang than the other two I think.

Spanish and French are both Latin-based "romance" languages. I'm just trying to stay within the group. In speaking of testicles I happen to like the traditional Anglo-Saxon term: bollocks!

So, my question still stands why Spanish and not English, hijo de p... maricon.

You don't get it. Saying it in Spanish makes it more classier. Do you want her to talk like some potty-mouthed bartender?

Also, try and understand why she said it. She is saying out loud what many people are thinking in private. Once again, Palin cuts through the chase and produces a memorable one-liner that people will remember. In the next few days, everybody is going to be talking about this, which keeps her name in the news.

“cajones”

There is no insult being called “boxes.”

Apparently it is you who missed it.

She needs to stick to the one language she knows.

She knew exactly what she was saying... she meant it ...and she's right!

The White House should demand an immediate investigation of this matter. I’ll bet that no cojones will be found on Gov. Brewer. OR on Obama!

I was severely chastised here on FR a few years ago for using that phrase.

Yes, Sarah Palin is a one-woman wrecking ball, in a good way.

What is the correct spelling for cajones? (as in intestinal fortitude, or in slang: testicles) ?

You’re right. We should stick to the language we know. In my case, I know English and I was just corrected. I erroneously spelled the word: cajones when in reality I should have written: cojones. The former means boxes; the latter means testicals, as far as I know now.
