It is well established in law that certain rights can be suspended in times of extreme emergency where the public safety may require it. There is some cautious optimism that we may have found an effective treatment for this thing. But until that is certain we need to err on the side of caution. This has been done in the past, notably during the 1918 pandemic. Legally these folks are not on good ground.

Amen to that. Federal authorities can open a dam to prevent upstream flooding and not pay a penny to downstream property owners.
If you own 100 acres near a federal national forest threatened by fire, and the feds set a backfire on your property to save public lands, guess what they owe you? Nothing!

Here is the thing that I think would be more understood in a place such as this-—the quicker this gets under control the more likely that DJT gets re-elected. This stretches into august-September and we are screwed.
If every single person who absolutely did not have to leave for work would stay home, do what has been asked, and bite the bullet-—that combined with the potential cures on the horizon and this could be over and done before summer starts, economy damn near pick up where it left off and he looks like a hero
