My Dear Uncle Louie , My Dad’s only Brother

was a 25 year old Merchant Marine and he lost his life

on one of those 17 ships , along with many other people

my Dad was only 19 &

in the United States Army at that time

& he is still here with us , at 84 ,

& he tells me that there were 18 ships...

If anyone has or knows of anyone who had family killed

during that bombing, I’d like to speak with him or her...

Our thanks to your Uncle for his service. Merchant Marines were indeed a critical part of the war effort and should be recognized.
