Oh boy what a sight! Unfortunately, with the price of av gas I couldn’t afford to taxi that bad boy to the end of the runway! Love those old war birds though.
GAH!
I’m only an hour south of there and didn’t know about this!
Oh’ man! What a missed opportunity!
Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn!
They flew right over my house. There were about 20 of them. Seemed like they just kept coming and coming.

Thanks for the ping. Great men and a beautiful aircraft.
One of the premier ground strike aircraft of the war. They made a good light bomber(which they were built for)but made a better ground attack craft. One of the great ones.
Yes, the B-25 was a very successful aircraft. A few even had a 75mm cannon for strafing.
Click on pic for past Navair pings.
Post or FReepmail me if you wish to be enlisted in or discharged from the Navair Pinglist.
The only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.
This is a medium to low volume pinglist.
When I lived near Ft. Walton Beach, FL you could still get on the base at Eglin AFB. There was a runway there that still had the painted lines Doolittle’s flyers used as a take-off point. That line represented the end of the aircraft carrier’s deck. Hope it’s still there.

BTW..I tried to see if anyone had posted a video on YouTube of the flight at WP..(I can't believe that someone didn't go there with a camera) but couldn't see anytrhing..wanna try? maybe you'll have better luck searching for it than I did..
