Afternoon w/w. I didn't see the Right Stuff but I did read the book years ago. I have a huge list of movies I need to see.

The movie "The Right Stuff" took a little licence with the events around the test flight program at Muroc. (Edwards...)

Yeager worked under Col. Albert Boyd in the program, along with flight engineer, Jack Ridley and back up pilot, Bob Hoover. Unfortunately you didn't get that sense in the movie.

Yeager was the most junior pilot among the test pilots, but his common sense and mechanical ability sold Boyd on Yeager. Skip Zeigler, A NACA test pilot, wanted more money for flying the X-1 before Bell turned the project over to the Air Force.
