Somebody talk me down

Posted on 11/04/2008 8:21:29 PM PST by BrazillionBob

I don't mind telling you that I'm feeling more than a little despondent. Somebody give me a reason not to crumble into full-blown despair. Please?!

I’m too depressed to even rationalize this.

Rationalize this.

This was never an election featuring qualified candidates and a thoughtful educated populace.

It was an election of a rhetorician vs. a doofus, coupled with an "American Idol" voting public plus a complicit media coupled with ACORN and a completely neutered Justice Department.

You are not looking at a REAL election. You're looking at a vaudevillian farce.

Did I mention I'm drinking heavily tonight?

keep in mind, we are the base. The Republican Party cannot win without us. Tonight and the elections 2 years ago have taught the party that reaching across the isle cost them power. We are back in charge now, they now know that the Mavericks, the independents, the RINOs are the path to defeat, something we have always known.

Now we call the shots, either the Republican party returns to Reagan Principals or they will never see power again.

To endure the hard times builds character. Show a little patience and persistence, we can survive anything. Remember the hardships endured by combat vets and former POWs, this is nothing compared to what they went through.

The Sun will still come up tomorrow.

There is a story about an emperor asking for a phrase that is appropriate under any circumstances. Someone provided it, it’s “This, too, shall pass”. Don’t dispair, no matter how bad things are, they will pass. And when there are good times, they need to be put in perspective, because they too shall pass.

Also, it doesn’t matter how many times we fall, what matters is that we get up one more time.

Have a drink — but just one, get a good night sleep and the world will still be there tomorrow, even with Obama as president.

no mandate. people weren’t voting for obama as much as they were voting their 401k’s. The big question for me is: Who’s the next Newt?

I started preparing myself for this about 7 weeks ago. It was apparent then that no amount of “scandal” would stop the Obama Express.

Tonight I started planning a big trip overseas. I may never go...but the planning keeps me busy! I can spend hours just searching flight schedules. And then there are the little inns in tiny towns in Provence. Or Tuscany. Or the Swiss Alps. The internet makes it fun whether you ever actually go or not.

In fact, I’m pretty sure the trip is a pipe dream. But I’ve got about 3 years to kill now that I won’t be so much of a newshound. Planning a big trip works for me. Find something you’re interested in and spend some time away from politics for a while.

Conservatives love their country no matter what.

Libs love their country when they're in charge.

All of the people who were bashing the USA will suddenly think it's the best thing on Earth. Remember when Clinton was elected and it was suddenly cool to be in favor of this country's success.

Just keep plugging away and don't let your success be determined by who wins elections.

Well, historically this was supposed to happen. If he governs too far Left the nation will call him on it in 2012. Add to that, that historically, we should pick up seats in Congress in 2010. Additionally, we have a great deal of young talent such as Jindal, Pence, Ryan, Sanford, etc. soon to hit a more national stage.

And last but not least...Hillary will likely never be president!

Because you live in America, you big pansy. Because you are a citizen of the greatest country on God's green earth, and that is irrespective of who lives in the white house. Because if you do not like the way its going, in two years you can have a bloodless revolution. Because they do not have a fillibuster proof senate, and most importantlanly because you were created with certain unalienable rights, and those will not be taken away.

I am as dedicated a freeper as they come, and you know what, we need to get a grip, not cry like little girls because we lost, and go forward. 1976 gave us Carter, then we got Reagan. 1992 gave us Clinton, and 1994 gave us Gingrich and the contract with America.

Our guys got elected with conservatism, and became spending drunk idiots, and just got booted. Now we go back to our roots, make our arugument, and find that city on the hill...America is the same place yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and no politician can change that.

I am Aaron West and I approve this message :)

Relax. The country will survive. The worst-case scenario is that a major civil war breaks out. If it does, look at the tens of millions on our side. We are not alone. But lets hope that doesn't happen.

Short of that, we may have to hit rock-bottom, think, worse than the Carter years, before the pendulum swings back. Again, we have tens of millions on our side, so the left will not be able to forcibly keep us from rising again (that would lead to civil war, and they don't want that — their entire effort since the 60’s has been of the Frankfurt School of social engineering, that is, using the culture to encourage the masses to accept Marxism rather than using force). But hopefully it won't get that bad, either.

Here's what I think will happen. Hussein will be an abject failure and a one-term president. The good news is that Hillary is now a shadow. Hussein will probably appoint 2 leftists judges to the USSC, but that only replaces two leftist judges. We still have 4-5 good judges.

The economic factor (taxes, recession, etc.) are the easiest to fix. They get expensive, they screw us over, but we can always fix the economy.

Our greatest threat, at this point, is his total lack of knowledge and experience in international and especially militaristic affairs. Plugs was right, they will be tested. Unfortunately, it will not be a written test and Hussein will not get any affirmative-action points added to his grade. The Islamofascists, the neo-Soviet Union, and the ChiComs will use this opportunity to crush us utterly. It may very well be this external pressure that completely destroys him kicks Leftism and Marxism in the nuts so hard that it can't get up for another generation.

Given our numbers, even after Hussein grants amnesty, if we get organized and become loud and constant as they have beenf or 8 years, we may be able to check the damage and usher in a Reagan in 2012.

Cheer up. If it gets as bad as our worst fears, we will all work together to withstand Obammie the Commie's racial and Marxist war on Americans. We're not alone. And our numbers are great.

But we have got to take back the education system in this country. We have all got to spend a lot of time at our children's schools getting in the faces of leftist teachers. It seems to me that 80% of the problem with the thinking in this country is because of our dumbed-down, brainwashed, indoctrinated populace after spending K-12 and 4 years of college under the influence of ‘teachers.’

I feel the same, but I've been through several of these before: 1976, 1982, 1986, 1992, 1996, 1998. All of those hurt, but we conservatives will survive. We always do.

My parents' generation had it worse, with years of FDR dominance, then later LBJ, aided by huge Rat majorities. In those years, the Rats won a comprehensive policy mandate. With 0bama, he ran a campaign full of soaring rhetoric, but light on policy. IMHO, he lacks the mandate that the Rats had in those past administrations.

The wheel will turn, and someday it will once again be our time.

What idiots — Obama will tax 401Ks.

My neighbor is a supporter of Obammie the Commie.

I'm kind of thinking I should just go through his house and steal some of his sh**. If he asks me what the hell I'm doing, I'll just say, “You and your wife are both physicians. I'm just getting a jump start on that redistribution of wealth crap.”

Obama has a lot of promises to keep. I don't agree with any of them. Let's see if he can keep any of them without P'O the majority of Americans. 0bama is going to tax us to death with his grandiose tax plans.

You bite our paycheck with a whole lot of taxes, I'm gonna bite back, bigtime.

I hope you’re right. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they look at 06 and 08 and say, “Damn. We’d better adopt most of Hillary’s positions if we want to win in 2012.”

Yeah, I think they’re that stupid.

Bob,

Don’t worry about it. It’s been proven that socialist policies fail and Americans won’t put up with the resulting BS for long. It’s one thing to say something and make it sound like a good idea, but it’s an entirely different story to produce desired results; and we all know they won’t be able to do it.

When we are called back, which will probably be not so far into the future since Nobama is one those psycho liberals who always have big ideas that just aren’t consistent with reality, we will be stronger than ever and more sucessful at advancing our agenda, because after all, it is mostly based on common sense and science, where there stuff is simply conjecture.
