Lesser of Two Evils? Or stay home from voting?

Posted on 10/04/2011 11:11:39 PM PDT by Lily4Jesus

Quick simple inquiry ...

My wife spends a lot more time here on Freepers than I but we both love you all.

We have an impasse .... she says that if the right tea party candidate (not Romney, Christie, etc) is not the final candidate against Obama, then many people (assuming she is talking about people here on Freepers) will simply NOT vote, i.e. will stay home from voting ...

Is that true? I mean, for example, if we end up with two 'pro-choice' candidates to vote for (Obama and someone with an R next to their name) would I as a pro-life voter simply stay home? Heck no ... I would vote for the 'lessor of two evils', the one with the "R" (God forbid it's a RINO!)

Just curious as to what peoples sentiments are here ... also will help me understand what circles my wife's been talking! ;-)

Hey, RonDog, hope all is well with you!!!

I would find it nearly impossible to vote for Huntsman as I see no difference between him and BHO. Romney is a liberal with liberal tendencies same for him.
Of the others, may not like it but would vote for one of them. Leaving Paul out because he is a loon and don’t consider him a choice.

Staying home would mean a victory for Obama and his Brown Shirts. Staying home is a vote against the Republic and a vote for the gray goo of socialism.

You never stay home!

You are not voting for king. There are too many other offices to vote for, Congressman, Senator, State Legislature etc.

If you can't bring yourself to vote for either presidential candidate, leave that one blank.

.Last year when McCain ran for re-election, I left that spot blank, but I voted for all the rest. By doing so my vote along with many others elected a Tea Party candidate who has turned out to be the best State Senator we've ever had from this district.

A non vote is a the same as voting for Obama unless it is a democrat who would have voted for Obama is staying home.
Tell your wife who ever gets the most votes wins and I do understand her stance but for me I just can not take the chance of not voting for Obamas opponent and I do not mean a third party-Remember how Clinton got in

Unless it’s Mitt, it’s unwise to stay home.

They are all very good candidates. And would do well with a strengthened hold on the House and Senate.

Always vote.

The criteria have nothing to do with right and wrong or who is qualified and who isn't. It has nothing to do with right or wrong or moral or immoral.

It's all about the outcome. You want the candidate most likely to further your policies. Not the most qualified. Not the most worthy. Just the one who will be the most likely to cause your policy to be enacted (or the least likely to prevent it).

Voting has nothing to do with who you are or what you believe. It is only about influencing the outcome. It's a game, and you get one move (barring fraud).

I take it you endorse his strategy, then? Stay home and reelect the Won? Out of principle! LOL!

The country is in such dire straits, with such corrupt three branches of the government, and brainwashed, uneducated citizenry, as well illustrated on the very forum, where few can compose a coherent paragraph, but many will compose illiterate personal attacks such as “your a moron” that yes, why vote?

I tell you, in the past decades all of my votes have counted for nothing, zilch, goose egg, for statewide propositions, representtives from the local councilman to the senator, to the POTUS, nothing, every vote for the loser, I don’t even think the dogcatcher, a $100,000 a year affirmative action genius, represents my interests, no one represents me and my family and, no, I am not a Communist Party member or voter. Let’s not fool ourselves, let’s stop playing the ruling elite’s game!

I will vote for the Republican candidate whoever it turns out to be. My vote will be a vote against Obama.

Staying home is not an option, IMO. And a vote for a third party candidate is a vote for Obama.

Simple Math = Keep the House — Win the Senate — Get a GOP president that won’t Veto conservative legislation — pressure House and Senate for changes since THEY write the laws.

Anyway, I’m kidding, and I’ll end up like the rest of us voting for inevitable Senator or Guv’nor Milquetoast at the top of the GOP ticket.

I would go to the polls as usual, vote for conservatives, but if Romney is R presidential candidate, I will not vote for him. There is virtually no difference between Romney and Obama, except for R or D behind their names. Same ilk: narcissistic, big government, lying used car salesmen. Who cares then?

Here’s the deal. I expect my candidate to be at the top of the ticket. If not, I can either sit home and cry now and watch what is left of my country die, or I can vote for every R on the ballot and possibly at least START to undo the many wrongs obmama has done and cry intermittently.
Never give up and never give in.

What I should have asked was: Are you also “4Jesus” as your wife’s screen name suggests she is?
