A sobering fact that keeps running through my head is, the only thing conservatives have done successfully in the face of the progressive movement is fail to stop it on a consistent basis.
SS is one of many socialist programs that have become institutionalized in the very marrow of our society. In doing so, the size of government is kept on a steady course bigger because of the increasing number of people “who would get hurt” if these programs went away.
Social security is no different than any other government run programs. They always keep growing.
I hope we switch to a retirement program similar to the very successful program in Chile.
