The Wallstreet journal is stupid. Trump is winning “very conservative,” “conservative” and Evangelical votes in basically the next 5 or 6 states. How can he win something he already has?

Trump is more of an American nationalist, which is fine with me. It’s about time we have someone who puts American interests about Globalist interests.
All he has to do to win my support is win the nomination... but up to that point, i'm supporting Cruz.

Trump’s plan to win conservative support:
1) Oppose illegal immigration
2) Review our legal immigration policies
3) Support a pro-America trade policy
4) Oppose globalism
People who don’t support him on these aren’t really conservatives in any meaningful sense of the term.

I saw Newt speak a couple of weeks back, and that is essentially what Newt said at that time. Trump does not have a political ideology as such, so if you have a list of conservative agenda items you would like to see a candidate tackle, it could be very hit or miss if we end up with Trump (i.e., several unpleasant surprises).
LIE about all his real views and pretend he was never for an “assault weapons ban”, longer waiting periods for all gun purchases, socialized medicine, abortion on demand (including partial birth abortion)...and Hillary Clinton for President.
People are coming to understand that someone who postures as a conservative is less desirable than someone who isn’t but is honest about it and will deal with conservatives fairly rather than the contempt we get from “conservative” “leaders”.
