I am voting for:
Governor - Patrick Colbeck
Senate - John James
US House - Mike Bishop. He's not always as conservative as I'd like, but I don't know anything about his opponent Lokesh Kumar.
State Senate - Lana Theis. One of my best friends is an attorney connected politically locally and highly recommended her. I looked her up and she was one of the most conservative state reps in the state. My friend said her opponent was a RINO as well.
State House - Ann Bollin is my clerk and unopposed. Frankly, I hate losing her as the clerk. She's a true professional from what I have seen in the short two year time I've lived here.
County Commissioner - I don't know Kate Lawrence. I've heard she's moderate but very good at her job and has gotten more conservative over the years. She's unopposed. Circuit Judge - I just moved to the area 2 years ago. I am an attorney and I heard about the horror show that is district judge Theresa Brennan. I don't know much about the judges here, but I read that Dennis Brewer ran against her four years ago and that he's a conservative. He's got my vote for that alone.
I have heard VERY good things about Jim Runestad. I've briefly met Matt Maddock who lives nearby, although in a different district and he seems good. My friends in South Lyon seem to speak highly about the kid Chase Turner running against the incumbent. I know Ryan Berman took some heat for a pro-gun fundraiser. John Reilly is doing an excellent job from what I hear.
I lived in the more conservative part of that area (North Territorial area), but the whackjobs in city limits started moving out more my way and I got out of the county.
I think Dudenhoefer got DQ’ed due to petitions and is running as a write in since no GOP’er are on the ballot.
I can't imagine how it would hurt to not vote for a democrat.
One last reminder for the primary, tomorrow!

OMG guilty pleasure here too, however they are so left of center and the Anti-Bush politics back in the Day I stopped going. A-Squared is such enemy territory I try not to go and spend a damn dime their, don't even get me started how U of M is full of themselves..
Colbeck for Gov.
For Senator, I actually prefer Pensler. James seems more electable vs. the D, but he doesn’t seem as bright.
Also, he lied about Pensler disrespecting Trump. Pensler is a Trump fan as far as I can tell.
You notice that in the 13th we do not even have a R as a place holder?
Obviously I need new glasses.
I'm surprised that even the SOS website can keep it straight, no worries.
At least one can stand out of the rain in most of the city, thanks to the overhanging grandstands of Michigan Stadium. ;^) Seriously though, I've never had a sandwich like that one. :^o Did you eat there when it was just that front room, with some stools, a counter, and mostly takeout (because of the lack of seating)? That wasn't due to their politics -- but I'm sure they were "Palestinians".
I get a kick out of this SOCIALIST'S political ADs......He's promising the world of free stuff to everyone.
Thanks for posting that article on Thenedar......The guy is a scam artist.
James is a Trump fan and has been since he came out of the gate. I heard his first interview on WJR with Frank Beckmann and knew he was my choice.
Pensler is guilty of his own sneeky attacks against James as well. The latest being that James tried to improve his business in Detroit by aligning himself with Jesse Jackson and getting business incentives via affirmative action.
Don't know what the Jackson thing was about but the affirmative action accusation failed to mention that Detroit created empowerment zones in declining industrial areas in order to entice Black owned businesses to take over those areas and apparently James took advantage of it for his business.
The manufacturing plant I worked for on Detroit's east side was in the final stages of closing down back around 2005. Ex Detroit mayor Dennis Archer was aligned with another black owned manufacturing company that made overtures to purchase the plant.
Unfortunately the sale never came to fruition since Archer and the group could not guarantee FORD MOTOR COMPANY that they could honor the existing parts contract during the transition......
Affirmation action or not, as a business owner you take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way in order to advance your company since the govt. is against you from day one..............
As a post script, every major manufacturing company out there in the private sector has a department whose sole responsibility is to seek out govt. funded grants or tax incentives for industrial training programs and apply for such grants and implement the training required for the grants........
My pleasure. My phone's been getting robocalls at a remarkable rate these past couple of weeks. Have to remember to print out the sample ballot and figure my final stuff out before tomorrow.
Yes I believe that was the Mid 90's and I think the expansion was late 90's or 2000ish. Always packed, those Falafal sandwiches were or are amazing...
:’) It’s not as if the addition of the dining room was a huge thing, but sure comes in handy, those sandwiches are not easy to eat on the run.
Trump Tweet: Vote for John James in MI primary tomorrow; Will beat Stabenow in Nov (US Senate race)
