Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that he is deploying National Guard troops to the southern border to address what he calls a “crisis.”
Abbott (R) announced Operation Lone Star over the weekend to address the smuggling of people and drugs into the state, something he blames on the current administration.
“The crisis at our southern border continues to escalate because of Biden Administration policies that refuse to secure the border and invite illegal immigration,” he said.

Texas may have to build a wall along the N.M. border.....
What I want to know is what will the National Guard troops actually be doing? How will they be combatting illegal immigration. Will they be arresting and/or holding illegals for deportation, jailing them, using force if necessary, putting them where? Who, what, where, why, and when? Inquiring minds want to know.
And will they be armed?
Dude....this is Texas. Just what do you think?
They the national guard can not stop or apprehend anyone crossing the border. They can only observe and report those who cross illegally and if given the funds they can improve or build infrastructure like border roads. They are helpful but they can’t arrest anyone.
If bidens policies allow just about anyone who crosses to stay then neither the border patrol or the guard are effective because nobody will care if they get caught. As a matter of fact most just give up if they know they will get a bus ticket to where ever they want to go.
Abbott can feel the hot breath of a primary and a piss poor record under his administration.

Secede? There’s a reasonably chance Texas voted for its last GOP president. Republicans might be able to hang on for one more cycle, but after that, it’s all borrowed time particularly if they successfully enact any kind of amnesty.
In 2004, GWB carried TX by 22-points. 16-years later, Trump carried it by just over 5-points. The writing is on the wall.
Leave you vaccination card behind.
They should just haul them all to blue states and dump them.
That's about what I expect from Abbott. Unless he has given them an ROE to shoot the invaders, this is nothing but a PR move.
Add AZ to that list.
Historically AZ real estate value increased 1-3%. Last couple of years, 10%
Ultimately, I believe you’re correct. But, probably not for the same reason. (In most states) While acting under the authority of the Governor during an ‘emergency’, National Guard troops can effect arrest. It’s when they’re acting in a federalized capacity, that power is stripped from them because of Posse Comitatus.
However, what handicaps them now is the Supreme Court ruling from roughly a decade ago, Arizona vs US, which essentially held the states are constitutionally foreclosed from enforcing immigration laws. It’s insane, but that’s what the Court held and that’s the reason why no matter how many National Guard troopers Abbott sends to the border, they won’t have any impact because they can’t detain anyone for violations of immigration laws.
They MIGHT be able to arrest people crossing on private property as trespassers. That’s about it.
I’ll be right behind you. I’ve got my eyes on where to relocate to when the time is right.
Abbott should tell them that the federal government is putting an unfair cost on the legal citizens of Texas. They should demand federal government pay for the additional cost of education, healthcare, law enforcement, infrastructure associated with the unfair biden executive order.
If the feds don’t pay for all the funding, Texas should send them to a blue state.
Can Abbott use his State money to finish off the gaps in the wall where the illegals/cartels are streaming in through? What’s to prevent him from stopping up the gaps, or at least build fencing on private land that gives the State permission to do so. Bannon was building private fencing along the border, so it can be done.
A campaign fund should be started in the U.S. that every patriotic citizen can contribute money to in order to build private fencing. Use the same companies that are now doing it federally, only privately fund the wall. There is more than one way to skin a cat.
All guard is gonna do at the border is act as facilitators. The courts have ruled the border and immigration belongs to Fed Gov. The guard will end up handing out free meals, bus tickets, welfare applications and motor voter applications.
Truth ==> Everywhere in the US will become a hellhole when Marxism finishes taking hold.
And don't fault people for leaving. Texas itself has Austin and Dallas blue or trying to go blue.
The hellholes are everywhere. There is not one state that doesn't have an infestation somewhere.
The Marxists introduced a bill to make PR a state. Fine, just as long as a state can leave the Union, PR and all the chitholes of the world can be a state in the USSA.
Imagine entire blocks of states going independent:
Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia (maybe), South Carolina, Tennessee ...
Idaho (maybe), Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota ...
Ten bucks says that Plugs countermands that order.

I still do not really know what he has instructed them to do. Reading all the press accounts, it all looks like another word wall.
