With a potential rematch of Donald Trump versus Joe Biden, advertising spending is expected to hit records for the 2024 election cycle.
This could be bad news for the Republican National Committee, which has reported lower political donations.
What Happened: Donald Trump leads many national polls ahead of President Joe Biden and has a commanding lead over his Republican competition for the GOP nomination for the presidential election in polls.
The Republican National Committee might not be able to help Trump or other candidates out as much as they have in recent elections, based on the size of its current war chest.
According to the Washington Post, the RNC had $9.1 million in cash at the end of October, as per a party disclosure. This total was the lowest for the RNC in any Federal Election Commission report since February 2015.
The report could be worrisome as the RNC had around $20 million, or over double at this point in the 2016 election cycle and had around $61 million at this point four years ago for the 2020 election cycle.
The Democratic National Committee had around $17.7 million as reported for the end of October, ranking nearly double that of the amount from the RNC.
Reports say the RNC is getting less large checks from political donors and its amount of small donations has also fallen.
"We're going through the same efforts we always go through to raise money: the same donor meetings, retreats, digital advertising, direct mail," RNC member Oscar Brock said, as shared by the Washington Post.
Reports said some donors might not be making donations this year as the donations could directly benefit Trump, a person that not all Republicans were willing to support with their own money.
Lower donation amounts and totals could also come as a result of higher inflation and tightened consumer spending.
RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel cited voters giving more to individual candidates instead of the overall party as a reason for the lower donation amounts.
"I think there's more donors just fully committed to their candidate right now, saying I am all in, and once the nominee is set, I'll be there," McDaniel said.

Why It's Important: Concerns over the amount of cash the Republican National Committee has could be escalated with Trump's call to cancel Republican primary debates to save money.
"RNC must save money on lowest ever ratings debates. Use it against the Democrats to STOP THE STEAL! If not, REVAMP THE RNC NOW!!!" Trump recently said.
Trump also expressed concerns that the RNC was ready to help with the 2024 election.
Increased concerns for the RNC also came after the party lost several key races and ballot initiatives in recent elections.
With a highly competitive 2024 election race expected between party frontrunners Trump and Biden, the low amount of cash the RNC has and lack of big donations could be worrisome. Trump was able to increase his war chest in recent quarters.
Along with 90% of the Republicans who are actually RINOs who are currently in office!
I sometimes wish Texas would go to a closed primary system. I am sure RINOs like John (Wayne during election season...Bobbit during Congressional session) Cornyn would NOT make it out of the primaries!
But then again, I would have to officially join the Republican party to vote in their primaries, and at this point in time, I am not sure I want my name on their roles any more than I want mine on the Democrat’s roles!
Ronna McDaniel has one job and that’s basically solicit money for Republicans and then spend it to get Republicans elected. She is a miserable failure at both aspects. Her incompetence may even be greater than Kamala Harris as hard as that is to imagine. NEVER underestimate the ability of Republicans to pick a loser and then keep up losing. And to some extent we have Trump to thank for this since he was one of her supporters the last time the opportunity to replace the fat SOS who lives high off the hog but is utterly incapable of doing what she’s supposed to do.

Where did all of their “record” levels of donations go? Certainly not in winning any major elections, or, fighting for election integrity and stolen elections.

Add that to the fact that conservatives are not being represented by many of heir republican reps. Why support the ones who do not represent their beliefs?
And here's the final reason why the entire RNC can go pound sand...the redwin people are making a killing on the donations. Yep, they are. Then that donation to one candidate means I am going to be passed around to any other candidate like I'm a $5 whore! I get 40 or 50 texts begging for a donation for themselves or some urgent cause that I have no interest in supporting. I will never donate to any candidate or cause again.

The lost the small donors because they ignored the small donors wishes.
The RNC needs to abandon the big donor model and re-adopt the small donor model, which means candidates must be responsive to the needs of the people who actually elect them.
“I get between three and eight political text messages from phone numbers not previously blocked, each day, with most being the House, Senate, or RNC committees.
They don’t respect my “STOPs” and they just text on a different phone number, when blocked. With emails, I always remove my name, but they make a new list and put my name on that one, making me remove my name, again.

I also get many of these messages. The formula is their providing a content messages from this or that Republican incumbant or candidate for office. Often the message claims it wants your views and to check a box, or a yes/no choice. They then display donation amount boxes to check. If one does not donate, the software does not let you continue and does not accept your opinion checking. The botton of each messsage explained that the messages are being sent by WINRED on behalf of Republican incumbants and candidates. Their choice of doing it this way is a big annoyance. The more one gives, the more solicitation messages one receives to the point that one gets annoyed with all the incumbants and candidates and one erases them all and declares them “junk.” The kicker is the system asks you if you want to block the phone number. If one says “yes,” they block it, but just send you messages from a different phone number. The fund-raising machine tries very hard, but winds up turning off the recipients. They make clear they couldn’t care less for our opinion.
Their request our us to “give them our opinion” is bait to get to the donations page. How stupid do they think people are? It works a few times and then one justs erases the incominig messages without reading them at all. This WINRED deal is taking up a lot of their resources to deluge potential donors. Even Trump’s organization is using them. Perhaps the Democrats are doing the same thing. I don’t know.
The party today sucks. People are donating to individuals.
The problem is that the Cultural Marxists are circling the wagons around the Democratic Party, so they are a United Front, despite their differences.
It’s completely beyond reason that anyone paying attention donates ANYTHING to the RINO Party. It’s better to donate to the individual campaigns.
They should also worry about small donors. They get nothing from me as long as Ronna McDaniel is an RNC official.
