Lively discusion. X broached the topic of First Ladies. So I thought - as we wait on the Iowa Caucus - I'd bring up First Ladies.

I gotta go with Jackie Kennedy for my favorite. I always liked her, sweet and poised, fashionable and young. Was a sweet time.
Funny story. Nancy Reagan had that ‘just say no’ advertising campaign during the 1980s and early 1990s as a part of the U.S.-led war on drugs, aiming to discourage children from engaging in illegal recreational drug use by offering various ways of saying no.
She actually went with some cops on a drug bust and it was televised.

My brother joked” Two drug users in a house getting high. One says to the other: “Man this is some really good shi*! I thought I just saw Nancy Reagan”.
I thought it was a pretty funny joke.

You have to go back to Patricia Nixon to find one that was not a drunk, a doper (Clinic named after her), a mystic, a crazed abortion supporter, an illegitimate power-grabbing lesbo lady McBeth coke whore who held seances, a militant America hating blm grifter, a communist, or a nut like Babs Bush who likely had the JFK assassination planned in her living room. When she came in to serve sandwiches and coffee, nobody stopped talking. And all of them since Pat raised America hating bouncing baby bolsheviks and feminists.
Melania is the first decent one since decades ago. Other than that I have no strong feelings on the topic.

Nancy was a TERRIBLE person and I know this, because my progeny went to the same elite, private day school, in Chicago that she did and I met her once and worked on a charity thing WITH her, there.
She was a horrid snob, cold, and I had even worked on her husband’s presidential campaign in Chicago, yet I apparently wasn’t “good enough” for her highness!
So WHO was she nice to?
Well, she put on an “act” for one teacher and was a bit chummy with a couple of alums ( my age, not her’s! ), one of whom was actual a friend of mine and a Rockefeller descendant, whose family had lived in the same building that she had as a teen. My friend and her family lived in that penthouse ( she had inherited it ), BUT she NEVER knew that person, though her parents MIGHT have known Nancy’s parents, though I doubt it.

I know... people tell me I’m gonna get an ulcer from holding things inside. I tell em they have discovered a virus causes that.
