Well, Sen. Kennendy, the US Catholic Bishops have called this month for sanctions to be taken against Catholic politicians who vote against the measures supported by the Catholic church. There is no word on exactly what this means -- will they be excommunicated? Publicly condemned?

9 Supreme Court Justices. 7 appointed by Republicans. 2 by Dems. Of those nine, three are solidly conservative, 2 are moderate, 4 are solidly liberal.
Republican presidents appointed all three conservatives, both moderates, and two of the liberals.
Bill Clinton appointed both liberals.

I didn't see that, but noted it was NOT stated on the Live Thread how HRC disparaged the nominees, albeit she didn't use words, but body language.

She yelled that the clinton nominees were moderates, and then said "And now look at what we get" throwing her arms out with a look of disgust on her face as if the Bush nominees were the dregs of the earth.

Every bit as bad as you describe Kennedy's digraceful comment, IMO.
