The answer is quite simple: Baseball does not glorify the rap, hip-hop, and bad-body image that basketball and to a lesser extent football do. Black kids are being taught to be a part of the MTV culture that glorifies sex and violence. Basketball plays up to that, while Baseball covets a wholesome image.

I'd like to add to your excellent comment:
There is no physical component to baseball- the first baseman does not shove a runner to the ground.
Basketball and football both involve heavy shoving. Basketball did not used to, though.

Let me put it another way, RK. Beisbol isn't a contact sport. Current black culture encourages contact sports. Further, if there weren't a Tiger Woods, you'd see almost no black golfers. Matter of fact, you still don't on the pro level. It's certainly not that blacks can't excel at the game - they obviously can. They just don't WANT to. It isn't contact, and it ain't hip-hop.

Baseball is a game that fathers teach their sons, and fathers stay involved in up to high school. Anyone look at what has happened to the black family since the 60's?
Basketball is a game the kids can play on the streets without parental involvement. Football is a sport that coaches push kids to play. Baseball is a dad's sport.

Absolutely well said.
Baseball doesn't have the trash-talking and in-your-face style of play like basketball does.

Baseball covets a wholesome image.
While your points are valid, baseball's "wholesome image" needs some major repair these days.
