It has been brought to my attention that April 19th had been the most notorious day in recent US history before 09/11/01. So I checked. What has happened on April 19th in US history?
1995 Oklahoma City bombing of the Murrah Federal Building
1993 51 day siege of the Branch Davidians ended in Waco, Texas
1933 America leaves the gold standard
1783 The American Revolution ended.
1775 The American Revolution began.

Why is all of this important?
April 19th will be about 911 hours after the bombings of the trains in Spain.
Are terrorist that methodical???

My birthday is sept 11th but i dont connect it with any kind of significance. My point is that recorded human history is thousands of years long and its nearly impossible to find a date that doesnt connect with an event thats memorable for some reason.

I think the next big day will be March 17th, 2005, because:
March 17th 432 - St Patrick, a bishop, is carried off to Ireland as a slave
March 17th 1521 - Ferdinand Magellan discovers the Philippines
March 17th 1672 - England declares war on Netherlands
March 17th 1766 - Britain repeals Stamp Act
March 17th 1836 - Texas abolishes slavery
March 17th 1917 - Tsar Nicolas II of Russia abdicates the throne
March 17th 2004 - Tomocius signs up on Free Republic

You are a Reagan Fanatic, and you do not believe that dates are of any importants. Go read a little bit about the Great Communicator.

Wasn't Columbine on the 19th as well? For some reason I remember it being on the anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing.

I was thinking that it would be a pretty good tactic for terrorists to cause us to look for dates of significance, then attack at another time.

It's possible, I suppose. After all, I think Timothy McVeigh said one of his "motivations" for doing what he did was because of what happened with the Branch Davidians. So, that goes to show terrorists do like to match up their acts with previous dates in history, or at least attach some significance to the date itself. 9/11 is another example, as clearly it holds some significance to these guys, after the bombings in Spain. It's also arguably an attempt to mock our emergency response system ( 9-1-1)...so, given that April 19th is ~911 hours from the Spanish bombings, and it has some significance in our nation's history (when the revolutionary war ended? Pretty big connection imo)...it's possible, like I said.
As others on this thread have said though, you can draw all kinds of "connections" with virtually any date in history. So it's not iron clad by any stretch. However, the 911 hour connection is an interesting one, I must admit.

Wasn't Columbine on the 19th as well? No, I was wrong. It was on the 20th. Pretty close though.
To: tomocius
So now we need to run around screaming madly every 911 hours?

Based on what?
