with that of 7-year-old Erica Pratt, who gnawed through her duct tape bindings to free herself from kidnappers in Philadelphia and was responsible for the arrest of the two men who had taken her. Pratt is African American, and her story received much less attention than did Smart's.
*** He's right about that. The only place I saw it mentioned was in FR!
That's a great line. I'd use it for a tagline, but it's too long.
I know you like unPC comedians :)
"When is a 15-year-old a kid and a 12-year-old an adult?" he asked, indicating it might be because one was white and one was not.
...
"I spoke at my high school last week," he said, "and I told them, 'You've got to focus. Stop blaming white people for your problems.' "
Man, I'm starting to really like this guy.
...when keeping it real- goes bad.
Bravo!!!
Although some stuff quoted won't be palatable for most Freepers, I must admit Dave Chappelle is right-on with his assessments.
This guy can be sometimes very raw and can lift many eyebrows, but you can't question his talent and the accuracy of his sketches, when it comes to racial stereotypes. His line of work is racial humor, and even he admits it.
But, unlike Chris Rock, he won't make humor only at the expense of white people. He's also very unforgiving and even cruel to his fellow blacks.
That's my $2/100.
P.S: I'm the proud owner of Chappelle Show's Season 1 DVD set. Buy it if you can!!!
Aha! I always knew Dave Chappelle had at least some sense in his head even if he does vote rat.
Personally I think his "Black White Supremacist" skit was way more funny than the entire Rick James episode.
I like it.
I'm thinking Chappelles not too bright.
"When is a 15-year-old a kid and a 12-year-old an adult?" he asked, indicating it might be because one was white and one was not.
Yea, Dave, there's not whole lot of difference between "being kidnapped" and "murdering someone".
Listening is a lost art, Dave.
Briefly, for those who aren't aware, Emmy-winning daytime TV personality/gospel singer Wayne Brady is so straightlaced in real life he could be one of the Osmond Family. Chapelle made the comment 'White people love Wayne Brady because he makes Bryant Gumbel look like Malcom X', and Brady heard about it and was reportedly upset.
Pretty soon, Chapelle ran a gag video about him being invited out on the town by Brady. He reluctantly accepts and finds out that Wayne Brady is a psychotic murdering gangster. Side-splitting comedy ensues.
There's good reason that Chapelle's Comedy Central show is #1.
"The UN should sanction us with their army... oh wait they don't have an army! So they should shut f^<k up!"
What a way to end a career on the fast track by going out swinging.
I really don't know anything about this guy or his politics but two things are clear, he's funny as hell and anyone who want to look can see he's very, very bright.
I get XM Satellite and hear a lot of Chappelle's stuff. I will say that he's foul mouthed and often off base, but he is an equal-race basher. He was doing a routine the other day about how white Washington D.C. has become, and how integrated the gangs are---"You know if you see a gang of brothers with 2-3 white dudes that they are the most dangerous guys in the gang to get the respect of the brothers! Stay away from them! Also, the brothers have to have a couple of whites to talk to the po-lice when they come. 'OK, Ernie, you take this.'"
Out of what? The abyss of ignorance passing itself off as culture?
Except for joining the military (Colin Powell), attending law school (Clarence Thomas), Journalism School (Oprah Winfrey), studying medicine, economics, education...
I think Chappelle was being ironic rather than being supportive of Cosby's statement. He is still implying that whites are keeping blacks down save for the three ways he mentioned to get out of the ghetto. Education is not one of them.

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.
