As an ice-age progresses, more water is tied up in ice caps and glaciers.
Sea Level is lower, and hydrostatic pressure on the Methane hydrates is reduced.
Would this cause venting, green house effects and rewarming of the planet?
It may be part of a neat temperature regulation process that keeps the planet from becoming an iceball.
