The hot rumor in New York political circles has Roger Stone, the longtime GOP activist, as the source for Dan Rather's dubious Texas Air National Guard "memos."

Wonderful. The Democrats have completely eschewed the principle of Occam's Razor. ...and now they're about to slice off their own nose with said Razor...just to spite their face.

*whistle* That's some "strategery" they got there...

Wonderful. The Democrats have completely eschewed the principle of Occam's Razor.

That was my first thought when I read the article.

Let's see, which scenario is more likely to have occurred:

1. The Republican's created the documents and then sent them anonymously to Bill Burkett, knowing that CBS would contact him, obtain the documents, send them to the Kerry campaign, run a big story on them without trying to authenticate them (or noticing that not a lot of documents were created on MS Word during the early 70s), post them on their website, and finally get nailed by bloggers (all undoubtedly part of the vast right wing conspiracy); or

2. Burkett created them.
