I spent several hours last weekend making phone calls and then I attended a 96-hour campaign session. During the week, I put up several yard signs in strategic locations. Today, I spent a couple hours calling and got my assignment and materials for poll checking on Tuesday (I am taking a day of vacation to work the campaign). Tomorrow I am going to spend some more hours calling.

Forgot to add: volunteering at the campaign is VERY encouraging - the enthusiasm in contagious! There were so many people wanting to volunteer, they turned some away as they were out of phones and computers! It was great fun being in that environment.

PS: I am in the Seattle area.

Good stuff!

One thing that worked for me in 2000 was to ask every Bushie (or leaner) first thing on Tuesday morning if they voted yet. For those that didn't vote before work, I pretty much chased them out of the office at 4:00 to make sure they went directly from work to the polls. I think I picked up one or two votes that would otherwise have blown it off.
