France is to seek a vote in the UN Security Council to impose an arms embargo and other bans on the Ivory Coast. The move comes after a ceasefire in the Ivory Coast was broken and nine French soldiers were killed by government bombings.
we should veto. let them squirm awhile whilst people pick on them for acting unilaterally.
Uck the Fun.
No blood for cocoa!
lol, now that would be funny.
Veto it and stick it to Chiraq. Make his Ivorian adventure look illegitimate.
Let them do it. It won't work anyway. Let them have their way, and then they can see for themselves that sanctions don't work.
VETO
After already taking unilateral military action? A little late, isn't it?
Abstain.
I'd love to see that.
No, NO. We should vote FOR the resolution and then ship arms to the anti-French forces.
The anti-French forses there are actually very pro-American.
forses=forces
Anybody know someway to support the Ivorians against the french
PAYBACK IS A MOFO!
Yes siree bob, they are so pro-American that the US asked the French militray to evacuate the US expats in Abidjan. They are so pro-US, these guys, that the government which appointes them let them indulge in a little "white people hunting" last year, and right now they are displaying their adhesion to US values through rape, looting and murder.
I just hope you'll go see for yourself how pro-US they are over there, Mikhael - and that you'll come back alive to tell us all how they're a bunch of real swell guys.
The Ivory Coast deserves to be free of the French. It's the least we can do.
The U.N. is going to vote on a resolution? Oh, good, I feel better already.
Aren't the anti-french forces Christian, the pro-french forces being muslim? If so, let's send them a few a-10's and m1 tanks, and then see how the frenchies stack up militarily. That'd be a hoot to watch frenchie surrender to the Africans.
Depends. Which side are the Islamifascists on? I just know there's gotta be an Islamic angle to this.
