Yuck! This RINO won't make it past the primaries though.
Pro or anti second amendment? Someone educate me here.. I dont know..
As a Nebraskan, I have absolutely no intention of supporting Sen. Hagel's bid for the White House. He made a gamble this past year that Bush was going to lose and ended up getting some face time and a notable mention by Sen. Kerry in two of the debates. I likely won't ever vote for him again.
So, is he going to run as a Democrat?
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH! Hagel is a Bad Joke...he's about the most UN-SMILING person in public life....Barney Frank probably smiles more than Hagel! Hagel running for President...HAHAHHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
He'd better run as a Democrat, because his candidacy is DOA in the Republican Party.
RINO alert.
I'd right in my own name before voting for Chucky. If the GOP is ignorant enough to put forward someone like McCain or Hagel, they will lose my support.
Dole redux. No thanks.
He will be wasting his time and other people's money.
So far, the only people whose names I've heard batted around for '08 are RINOs; Rudy G and Hagel are the biggest names though. Folks here in the Neborg aren't real crazy about the stands he has taken since his last reelection. In fact someone recently told me they thought Ben Nelson (D-NE) was alot more conservative than Chuck. I can't remember where he is on 2nd Amend.
I will do everything in my (consulting) power to insure this backstabbing RINO jerk doesn't get past Iowa.
I've posted on this before. No Senator, especially a RINO like Hagel, will win the Presidency. Governors win, Senators (usually) don't. A Senator can sometimes make a decent running mate, but not Hagel. There's a good crop of conservative (or at least as much so as GWB) for 2008, such as:
Mitt Romney, MA governor. He's a Mormon, and really more of a Utah guy than a Masshole. He'd probably win MA, possibly NH, CT, and would still appeal in the South and Midwest due to his Western roots. I have a small fear of an anti-Morman bias, however, and I am unsure of his abortion stance, but I think he's at worse a RILOM.
Bill Owens, CO governor. He's charismatic, intelligent, good-looking, and well spoken. Club for Growth has already endorsed him to run for Prez in 2008. However, he recently got divorced, and both houses of the CO legislature have turned over to Democrats during his governancy.
Tim Pawlenty, MN governor. If Minnesota can elect a Republican governor, and he runs for President, he can win that state. He will have Midwestern appeal, and with a Southern running mate might be even stronger.
Mark Sanford, SC governor. Solid conservative, popular in SC. Could be a rising star.
Marc Racicot, former Gov of Montana. Has worked with Bush this year in his campaign. Was questionable on pro-life status but this has been debunked-he is pro-life or at worst a RILOM. Has the experience and would almost certainly get GWB's endorsement.
Mike Huckabee, AR governor. Another promising Southern governor. Can redeem Arkansas for giving us Bill Clinton, LOL!
Another one I like is MD Lt. Governor Michael Steele. He probably doesn't have enough experience to win on a national ticket, but might make a good running mate. He's a Black conservative, very charismatic, devout Catholic and a great, motivating speaker. Blew me away at the RNC.
In the Senate, Bill Frist and Rick Santorum have some potential, but as I mentioned above, both are Senators. However, either one might make a good running mate. Santorum in particular might help win PA for the GOP making a Democratic victory near-impossible as long as we still held Florida and Ohio.
I bet he'll get McCain's endorsement.
McHaGar!!!
Where's the BARF ALERT on this headline????
Chuck Hagel is ALWAYS ready to talk -- when he's done preening himself in the mirror.
Sold his soul for TV time. Forget it.
I only vote for him because I wouldn't vote for any dem these days. A lot of pubs in Nebraska don't care much for him, think he talked the right talk to get elected, but is a basic rino on most things. He's used the same methods Ben (bad hair-do) Nelson uses to get elected as a dem in a red state.
Chuck Hagel (R-France) if by some strange fluke he's the nominee I will cast a write in vote for Zell Miller.
