PHOENIX, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Immigration officials across the United States are aggressively tracking down illegal immigrants who have disobeyed orders to leave the country.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has deployed 80 agents assigned to "fugitive operations teams" in 16 cities to find 400,000 fugitive immigrants in the United States, 80,000 of whom were ordered to leave the country after criminal convictions, the Arizona Republic reported.
The $50 million program is part of a Bush administration initiative launched in 2003 and will be expanded by another 30 teams in all 23 field offices, including two teams each in Los Angeles and New York.
ping
It isn't. Meanwhile it gets worse.
Start on Durham between West 11th down to where it merges with Shepherd. Betcha we got four times as many as on Westpark.
It appears to have worked for felons registering Democrats.
Maybe the DNC is good for something, after all...
The woman who is the subject of the story was only dealing in heroin and cocaine. Oh the humanity!!!!!!!
Yep, right after 9-11 it was announced that some 315K absconders were going to be *aggressively* persued & deported (per *existing* deportation orders).
LOL.....looks like the US has been soooo *aggressive* in this pursuit, that we now have some 400K absconders STILL running loose in the country.
My sentiments too.
I'd also like to see hefty bounties on their felon employers and aids.
Border Agents ??? How 'bout we RECALL any of our "elected idiots" claiming we can't seal our borders ?? They're the ones keeping our BP from doing their job.
Ziglar, Hutchinson, & Ridge, have all *claimed* securing our borders & deporting all illegal is NOT "practical".
A lot of them are around the Greenway & Cave Creek area of North Phoenix.
Best idea I've heard in a long time, and I'm not joking. These folks would really get the job done.
I doubt it.
I'm sure they are all picking lettuce though.
I agree, that goes all the way up the chain of command. Everyone who says they can't, fire them and replace them with someone that says that we can do it. That includes the President.
Bush won..........get over it.
Just make that up?
Read the post I responded to.
Budgeting $50 million to catch 400 thousand people is only $125 per fugitive.
Put that way, it does does not sound like a very strong committment.
Yeah, I read it. I also read your standard 'no criticism allowed' post.
