Actually, I think it was the Mayor of San Francisco, more than anything, that blew this up in the Dems faces..It was just "too much, waaay to much" for most people. They didn't want this forced upon them..BTW....did you notice in all the incessant media coverage of the gay weddings..they NEVRER showed the happy couple kissing?..
Smart move on their part. Didn't work, however. Most people know that homosexual partners kiss and do a lot of other things too.
