Absolutely. But that would require courageous action in the FCC or in the judiciary.

The FCC obviously isn't going to act voluntarily. So the FCC must be sued, right along with CBS.

The Republican Party obviously isn't going to sue the FCC or CBS. Any more than Bush was going to take on the Swift Boat controversy. So we-the-people will do it, or it will not be done. I doubt if the SBVT is going to sue to have its story covered in broadcast journalism. What's needed is the sort of advocacy lawyer who would sue to disbar Bill Clinton. Someone like that needs to sue the FCC and its licensees over the tendentious coverage of this election, and the "Gore Wins Florida" reporting of exit polling in 2000.

Is that "shortly after" measured in comparison to days, weeks, or centuries? How about geologic ages?
